Not a personal fan, I browse it sometimes but it's just so damn toxic. So give me your experience, posts comments drama etc.

its pretty cool, i just post the photos i take on here to my story and just scroll
I just go to this emo guys videos sometimes and say imma touch him and he always responds with "WHAT"
@JacobTheKewlDude ...why
@Corpse-princess2.0 is funneh :3
it's pretty cool actually. That's where I found niche communities before discovering Neocities :D but unfortunately, I had to delete the app because it wasn't working properly on my phone :(
i saw a funny dog on a one wheel
Obviously its the number 1 app I go to everyday. But I'm starting to get tired of people online arguing about stupid stuff like "pretty girl humour" and "actual weird humour" or "tiktok-fied song" and "underrated niche song" like c'mon people.
If someone likes something recently, don't harass them and be all like "new gen💔" and pretend you've been in the fandom since the 1800's or smth.
Or whenever someone doesn't like a song, don't try to defend the artist or song. Like, I bet you the artist can take "Nah, I don't like your songs." comment. They can move on, so why can't you?
At this point I'm tired on being who's side so I'm just going to sit in the middle. Unless someone is problematic obviously I am going to "canceling them" side.
i imagine my experience will be different than some (i don't know, so! let me know if you can relate of course~) since i have always preferred outside of my country's media. my feed for years since joining was from Canada, UK, Australia, and East and South Asia.
once my country decided to make it only within my country back in January, i hopped off entirely. plus, i had a feeling something was going on, since before the actual announcement.. tiktokers within my country started to pop up more and more that i wasn't interested in and that didn't happen before since the first few days of joining in the first place due to my IP address until my interactions kicked in.
but from others that i spoken to at the time, and prior who had a feed within our country, it has always been toxic in some sort of way in any topics from makeup down to video games.
Lowk shit but one time my mate made a femboy acc of our headteacher which was hilarious asf
sometimes i forget that the ai fruit island thing was watched by more than a million people daily 😭
but tiktok is shit. besides some edits... its still shit.

its where i witnessed a repost of the ankha twitter video at the ripe age of ten
It was fine but it started getting kinda bad for my mental health. Every video on my feed was always so negative. I deleted it because I developed a problem with doomscrolling and every other day I'd breakdown because the world seemed so cruel.
I’ve never used it in my life, but my interactions / experiences with users from the platform (mainly the alternative community and the art community) are enough to make me not want to ever get it.

Fun for me the hate comments make me laugh 😭 (the ones who get towards me ) I made one post saying I like Yuoi as a joke literally said #satire on the vid and ooo I got jumped 😭✌But I usually just watch edits
i got bullied so hard for being trans and gender nonconforming + once i made a video calling out animal abuse ("tickling" a fish out of water) and people clowned on me so hard. thats when i vowed to delete tiktok and never come back. i was 15 by the way
I go through phases of downloading it and having fun then getting overwhelmed and frustrated with my fyp and deleting for a few weeks. Honestly I'm getting close to deleting it because yes the world sucks, people suck, but I just wanna browse my fandom stuff and not get flash banged by horrible news between videos of kitties and fan edits.

i don't like for you algorithms typically, but i'll say that your experience on tiktok is entirely about what videos you like and stop to watch. i am on there to promote my art/book videos and if i feel like watching short form content for a bit, i stop scrolling to watch puppet videos, clowns, cartoon artists, musicians, authors, hopecore, and queer performance art. others here are talking about political videos stressing them out but i rarely see negative political posts unlike a lot of other sites. i don't see many memes/trends anymore either!
if your fyp is being overwhelmed by trump/musk/ai/putin/whatever, manually search something you'd prefer to see instead and watch like ten of those videos all the way through, at least one playthrough per video. the algorithm will adjust pretty quickly. curating what you see on there prevents you from going on a stress spiral where you overconsume short form content.

I saw a couple of those gore videos with the inverted colors on my feed. gross
It was nice when it was first out and now it's just a former shell of itself.
worst social media ever like genuinely. it's the dumbest and most unwoke side of EVERY fandom, I got jumped when I made a video asking people not to use AI for their yandere simulator OCs 😭 everytime I'm reminded that it's the biggest social platform on the internet I get a complete sense of doom
not only that but people on twitter always screenshot the stupid takes they see on tiktok to farm low-effort hit tweets, it can get annoying
