Did anyone else see myspace is getting relaunched at some point, I'm excited as hell for it and I'll be a long side my SpaceHey and here!

I wouldn't hold your breath. I'll believe it when I see it! 😄

something tells me it won't be the wild west myspace ppl are hoping it will be :3

@GOAT I'm just hoping it comes soon

Yes, MySpace had its toxicity, but I could only imagine how much more toxic it’ll be knowing how many people from TikTok are gonna end up joining if it relaunches. I feel like it will turn into a warzone of toxicity 💔

@Hopeyy Haywire i give them a week tops b4 they bail due 2 the lack of instant dopamine.

the reality is that it was a moment in time + wont be the same. i think every1 (especially contemporary [pre]teens) are just looking 4 something/anything 2 wind back the clock and give us temporary reprieve from the corporate overlord run dystopian hellhole that is 2026, when the answer rlly is 2 put down the smartphone, have a dedicated PC for internet browsing at home, and enjoying life like we used 2

@xXiAmXabbyXx I miss the days of using a designated family computer, those were the days 🥹 I know it won’t be the same because the world is a whole lot different now from what it was back then. I’m not gonna let all the toxicity stop me from enjoying MySpace if it is true that it’s relaunching. 🙏

I did decide to head over to MySpace upon hearing that news.  That site is glitchy, with constant error messages, took forever to create an account (I regret that I did, in fact, delete mine when I left), and it wouldn't allow for any profile pictures to be loaded.  Wouldn't let me search for anyone either.  The site has some major issues.

They should start fresh completely if they really want the revival to go smoothly. The reason the site originally lost influence is because it tried too hard to emulate Facebook rather than maintain its own unique identity. Looks like the site's current state is a poor imitation of Google Plus, which we all know was a complete fiasco.

yes!! i have some long-winded thoughts on the relaunch that is too much to say in a reply to a fourm thread. i do worry about how the relaunch may affect the inspired websites like rewind... but i also do hope it may positively affect the social media industry in some way (like at least encourge more distinction and creativity for the industry)

I doubt i'll move there though, because i prefer to be around my peers (young adults), not the older ones who im sure would prefer their own spaces to re-experience myspace ^^

^_^

I don't think it's going to be like it used to be.

Everything that made MySpace what we knew it as was lost in a server migration failure because they never backed it up beforehand. So much data was lost when this happened. Blogs people never saved, pics, layouts everything.

If this comes back, they're more than likely going to have to conform to the 'corporate identity' crap of Icon + Banner no-fun city like every other shitty ass site. I'm hoping to god that this isn't the case but I am not going to get excited for things to look like 2007 again like you can do here and other sites.

yea I have very little hope that the MySpace revival will be any good, I feel like they're trying to just profit off of people like us that are tired of current social media

I hope it succeeds but the realist in me thinks today's internet is way too different of a place for it to do so. I guess we'll find out in due time.

I've already seen so many millennials being rude as hell telling them to ban Gen Z from getting on there, so idk if I even wanna try to make an account. I feel like I'd just get berated about how I'm not scene/emo by a bunch of pissy 40 year olds because I was young in the 2000s and not wearing a studded belt listening to Metro Station at the age of 5. I also have to wonder if they saw the success of SpaceHey and FriendRewind and now just want to capitalize on the nostalgia, after being the ones to remove the nostalgia themselves. Idk, I'm not feeling super positive about it, but I may just be being a pessimist.

@itsmilograve

That's so stupid I think it should just be purely adults should have their own stie and the kids should have their own site plain and simple!
