Ahh, this is my childhood right here.
Growing up, I never had a whole lot of money for games. So these free to play RPGMaker games were one of my biggest intros to horror gaming. Ib, Mad Father, Witch's House, Misaoー You name it, I was there!
Yume Nikki in particular was the focal point of a several year long special interest for me. Starting somewhere in middle school and ending around the time I was finishing high school and gearing up for college. I still love it, though I don't completely immerse my every waking moment into it like I used to. (Nowadays, that love is saved for a different stabby bastard 🤭)
Hell, those games were also some of my earliest experiences with roleplaying and cosplay as well! When I was really young, I had a roleplay blog for Mary from Ib, and I cosplayed her to a con as well! My memaw helped me sew a custom dress and everything :]
