@kaixa for some reason based on this i feel like you'd enjoy a dystopian. for a YA rec i'd say Ready Player One by Ernest Cline and for a more abstract speculative rec i'll go with The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas by Ursula K. Le Guin (its a short story).
