@Lulu's Mauling wowie thank you for saying all that, genuinely. i don't think of my photos as particularly emotional when i'm taking them, i'm usually just standing there going "oh that's nice" and clicking the button, so it's always weird hearing what other people see in them.
the first one was shot on a Pentax K1000, and that effect on the side is just a little film muck up called a light leak, basically when the film accidentally gets exposed to light. yikes. thankfully that one was salvageable, but you should've seen the other frames. i love when film does something it wasn't supposed to do and you just have to accept it haha. it's usually light getting in somewhere it shouldn't, sometimes through the seal or if the back isn't sitting quite right. the grain on the second is probably mostly the film stock, but the underwater light definitely didn't help, it was pretty low light down there so i'm guessing the exposure made the grain a bit more noticeable too haha
