i know that near my town there are some places to play dnd but unfortunately im totally friendless irl... and im big loser enough to get nervous over just to sit at a table and join a party

Well if you have friends online you can try it with them! Roll20 is a great site for hosting digital tabletop maps and making characters n stuff can be done without having to meet up anyways so that shouldnt be a problem.

okok SO, ik you don't feel comfortable just joining a party over a table BUT I'd reccomend checking out your local places, seeing what groups play and seeing what other events the place hold. you might be able to catch a non-dnd event and talk to some people casually to build a tiny bit of a bond so it's not as awkward joining a group.
ALTERNATIVELY, find an online group!! There's plenty of options to find them. DnD beyond has a server for it, there's r/lfg, and like million places dedicated to just finding a group to play with.
If you have online friends who are interested also you can always make your own server and figure out schedules and who's dming and stuff, ik thats harder to figure out though.
Andand!! if you end up not being able to make those options work, but still like the concept of ttrpgs and dnd-esque stuff, i recommend looking into Solo TTRPGs!!! They're super underrated and depending on what interests you about DnD you might really fuck with them

A lot of people don't know a lot abt them, they're less popular, but like how dnd is just one of many ttrpg engines theres like a million solo ttrpgs, and you can really filter based on what you value in a ttrpg. If you want worldbuilding a mapmaking theres ones like Ex Novo, if you want character and narative focus theres ones like Thousand Year Old Vampire (my fav,) and ones that are very close to dnd in theming and adventure focus (I havent played Iron Sworn, but I've heard it's like this.) They're really fun because they can get real creative with the mechanics, a lot use familiar stuff like dice and character sheets but they can get niche with it. Some use journaling as a core mechanic which is great if you love creative writing. Some use tarot cards or playing card which I find cool af. And theres ones for like every genre! Horror, scifi, fantasy, romance, you really can get a very specific experience out of each one!!! im a heavy advocate for giving them a try, even if you do find a group theyre fun to do in addition!!

I got my current TTRPG group (and general friend group) due to attending events of my local DnD/TTRPG place. Hell I got that group from attending only 1 event. I can recommend that for sure!!
