I really don't like messages and prefer public interactions, I specified this on my profile but people do it anyway. I tried disabling them but people still start new messages with me, I saved these settings so many times. am I doing something wrong is this not the right setting??

How do you turn off messaging? I don't see any place where you can turn it off. I hate it when you accept someone and they go straight to your PM's. I'd rather be able to shut them off and have a choice of who I want to interact with.
