definitely wolfwalkers (but anything by cartoon saloon is wonderful in general) and klaus (2019-2020 iirc) !!
klaus especially is an absolutely wonderful movie that i've watched every christmas since it's release, i can't express how masterful it is. you should really give it a try if you want a christmas-esque movie that isn't trite at all :')
edit: 420 post lmaoo
If Beyond the Spiderverse keeps up the energy, that series will be the single best achievement in animation so far.
My favorite animated movies are Yellow Submarine, Glass Harmonica (1968), and Death of Stalinism in Bohemia (1990 stop motion film)
@orange a stop motion film about stalinism... interesting

“@blackchampagnedayomg grave of the fireflies yes, forgot about it........very beautiful but so so sad....</3”
@самозванка at no point do those kids EVER catch a break, it is just constant devastation brought to their lives
truly a film about humanity when it fails
except those two kids, they showed the real beauty of life right to the very end
The Song of the Sea
Wolfwalkers!
The Last Unicorn. It's so beautifully made, especially when you consider the animation production methods available in the 80s.
Robot Dreams. I've seen it a hundred times it's a relatively recent 2d animated film and it's so beautiful
Jetsons: The Movie
@🦄 Sadie the Nostalgia Nerd 🦄 i didn't know there was a jetsons movie
@stevee yes, there is actually a jetsons movie; it came out in 1990.
perfect blue is amazing
nausicaä is amazing!! ♡ ♡ alice in wonderland is always in my heart too
