hey hey heys guysssiessss i lowk need to lose weight, or atleast be healither, so does anyone have any tips??? ill literally take ANYTHING.

we'll pretend to leave and then, we'll meet again, when both our cars collide.

Replying to @xxcloser2theheart (post is on page 1): “@xxcloser2theheart another thing my mother always said: don't let weight loss be your ONLY goal. your primary goal should be getting healthier, not changing ...”

@xxcloser2theheart one more thing as well: no matter what the tiktok girlies say, DO NOT STARVE YOURSELF. that is the WORST way to go about losing weight. the more you starve, the more your body thinks it's under attack and will actually hold onto fat so you don't die. not to mention it is incredibly unhealthy in other ways as well. all you need to do is eat well and exercise, just don't overdo the exercise part and you'll be fine

"how long, how long must we sing this song?"
Replying to @ExMachina (post is on page 1): “Swimming, elliptical machine, eating fiber, drinking more water and having two teaspoons of chia seeds daily but no more than that. Also, look into Mediterr...”

@ExMachina good god i thought you meant two teaspoons of chia seeds and then not eating anything else at all, i got really concerned for a second lmao

"how long, how long must we sing this song?"

fiber! and please don't skip a meal. A lot of people tend to skip a meal wishing to lose weight but in reality you need to have sustaint to your day. And be active, that's is a great way to be healthier c: if you don't eat meat you could use lentils for almost everything- Never underestimate the power of beans and lentils

So everyone's bodies are going to be different. Just cuz it works for me doesn't mean it will work for you.

  1. If possible, try walking or biking instead of driving whenever you need to go anywhere. This may be easier said than done, especially if you have a disability or live in the US, but getting steps in can help build a healthy habit.
  2. Don't feel like you need to go on a fad diet or fear certain ingredients. I would try to limit ultra processed foods as much as possible, but so many diets and people on the internet prey on people's desperation and ignorance. Chemicals aren't inherently bad for you[your own blood is a chemical], and you probably don't need supplements[unless you have some sort of condition]. Many fad diets actually can cause unhealthy relationships with food, or even EDs, so avoid at all cost.
  3. Focus on protein and fiber. What nutrients you need will depend on what you want to do and your body. Fiber and proteins are harder for your body to break down, so you will be fuller longer with less risk of overeating. Making your own smoothies at home is a good way to get both at the same time. However, start eating fiber slowly! If you overdo it right out of the gate, you will have some unpleasant GI issues.
  4. Don't focus on your weight. Weight and BMI are really just one aspect of your health[and BMI isn't even a good one]. Make changes to be healthier and feel better, and not just to drop down a few numbers. On a similar note, don't expect to lose all of the weight at once. The first 5-10 lbs/2.27-4.53 kg are water weight. After you drop those, you should be losing about 1-2 lbs/0.45-1 kg a week. Losing anymore than that[beside the water weight] can actually cause long term damage to your body. Weight loss should be a slow and steady process.
  5. Stay strong! You can do this! <3 Just find what works best for you, and makes you feel better about yourself and healthier. It can be easy to lose hope with today's internet, but ignore all the haters.
  6. Make sure you're eating enough. We all have a set number of calories needed to maintain our current weight, and one that we need to continue living[basal metabolic rate]. These values will depend on each person. Find what your maintenance calorie amount is FOR YOU and eat below that.
  7. Make small substitutions. Instead of eating red meat, try poultry. Replace soda with sparkling water or prebiotic sodas. Want something sweet? Try freezing grapes! Little changes can make a big difference.
  8. Get good sleep. This is quite an overlooked topic when it comes to weight loss. Your body doesn't function well if you don't get your rest. Lack of sleep can increase hunger and cravings for unhealthy foods, and can make you feel groggy and miserable as well. As to how much sleep you need also can vary. Try to avoid caffeine[if you indulge] a few hours before bedtime, keep screen time to a minimum around bedtime as well, keep your room dark and cool, and go to bed/get up at roughly the same time each day[if possible].
I feel asleep!
