Hey, My name is Cam :]

Back to Introductions

Recently, i've been a bit tired of mainstream social media. Sometimes it all feels sort of substantial for me. I love love to write so i thought something more personal like a site like this would fulfilled my frustrated dreams of down to earth social media.

I am nineteen years old and I currently live in the U.S. - originally I was born in Venezuela, currently seeking refuge in Florida. I am fully fluent in both spanish and english so i love chatting in both languages. I am pansexual, and nonbinary (highly aligned with genderfluidity). In a loving relationship with my girlfriend. My aspirations are to become an artist in multiple mediums, art, writing, moviemaking. Overall goals are just trying to experience as many happy memories/experiences in the time I have to share my brain with the world. Honestly just looking for an outlet. a place to speak that isnt a wall lol. I hold many ideas inside of my brain so I probably will tend to ramble on random things - or post poetry. Im hoping to post pictures of my art and things that i love looking at too. hopefully the ways my brain searches for seratonin and consumes media is also media your brain will wnat to consume :] Lets be friends!!!1!!!1!!!!1111

Hi Cam! It's so nice to meet you. I'm in the same mindset: I often find mainstream social media to be too much, like I can't truly express myself or connect with people. Seemingly, 'friends' just stalk you, act like celebrities who don't respond to your messages/like your posts, and people act two-faced in general. I love how customizable things are on this website, plus having smaller groups of people to share interests and a free music streaming source is neat!

I'm curious about your experience as a refugee, but I won't inquire if that's something you don't want to share. I'm half-mexican and want to practice my Spanish as my understanding is okay, but my speaking skills only improve a little whenever I visit my mom's family.

I'd love to hear about what ideas you have for writing, poetry, and art! I plan on being more active here once I finish my final exams, so I can't wait to check out your posts :)

@isa_nity_550 Hi Isa! nice to meet you too!! thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Regarding online behavior it seems even more rampant everyday especially tiktok pushing on this like image that everyone needs to curate their personality. I feel as though if we dont try to save the literacy rate somehow, social media will continue on the same toxic path it is on. But yea the two-faced audacity really annoys me, like follow me knowing damn well theres no reason why i would like you or seemingly want to follow back when theres no energy towards fixing the friendship, it almost feels as if they are waiting for me to text first. Like the fuck im not the one looking for their attention?? still in shock over that.

But I do love talking about my status as an immigrant in the U.S. for over 10 years now. I got here when I was 9 and I had to learn a lot about how this society works and how its soooo starkly different. I am a college student right now and in the political climate rn they're making it hard for me to even achieve a degree even though ive been a law abiding citizen for a decade....Will definitely go into deeper detail later on, i have poetry about my experiences and lots of horror stories  while living in Florida. Glad to know you'd be interested on that!!

Also I would love to practice spanish with you as sharing my first language is always something i've enjoyed. Dont hesitate to reach out to me if you wanna talk :]. Good luck on your finals!! see u soon :3
