Not sure how big into Ska you are but I've been really enjoying that genre a lot lately. I've always loved it but I'm more into it atm. Here's a few recommendations with my favorite song from each: Less Than Jake (All My Best Friends Are Metal heads), Rancid (Time Bomb, more Ska punk) The Interrupters (A Friend Like Me), Might Mighty Bosstones (The Impression That I Get), early No Doubt (Trapped In A Box) and Reel Big Fish(She Has A Girlfriend Now). To name a few lol

I don't know if you're into doom metal or not :(
Here's a relatively new band called Daevar. I like them a lot!! The song is called Catcher in the Rye. Their album Amber Eyes is my favorite.

I would recommend Alex G because I feel like he's got a little something for everyone. I'm terrible with recognizing genres but the internet says he's indie/experimental rock. His first album is from 2010 but he's still making music now
