Old Iron Maiden head here from back in the day. Black Sabbath, Metallica, Slayer, all the old OG shit. Lately I've been chasing down the first metal songs/bands and running into some really obscure but cool old stuff from like 1968/1969 etc.
Impetigo, obituary, Celtic Frost, Gorgoroth, Mayhem, Darkthrone, Bathory, (old) sepultura, Terrorizor, Repulsion, Make a change...kill yourself, mgla, wolves in the throne room, Offal, Coffins, Cianide, Agathocles, Pig destroyer, Magrudergrind, Dragged into sunlight, Watain, Morbid angel, Venom, Onslaught, Rompeprop, old napalm death, slayer, dissection,
Burzum, Charles bronson (yes there is also a band), Dying fetus, suffocation, Exhumed, forteresse.... yatta yatta you get it.....
electric wizard, noothgrush, Asbestos death.
Suffocation, gorgasm, blood incantation, Demolition hammer, death angel,
you get the idea.

@KILLGAZMOTRON well Celtic Frost and Venom certainly bring back memories! And I can't REMEMBER last time I listened to Bathory!
@Cranky Old Witch lolol classics of extreme metal indeed.

@KILLGAZMOTRON early, unpolished, in a sincere way 😊
Dissection!! Goregasm!!! Coolness, if your looking to get into more Black Metal stuff id reccommend Abigor, Ustalost and if your interested in more Black/Death rather than straight Black Metal id recommend Thulcandra. ( They are kind of a cross between Dissection and Children of Bodom)
Sick music tatse!
@heartshapedsunglasses
sweet sweet \m/ \m/

I'd say Charles Bronson are more on the punk end of things than metal -- but tbf it all kinda blurs together once you dive into the 'extreme' genres anyway.
The OG from the 70s and 80s. They were the GOATs. But, I love Disturbed tons
Finnish metal scene is the best! Olen kännissä by Rytmihäiriö was one of my most played songs last year. The lyrics are great :DD https://lyricstranslate.com/en/olen-k%C3%A4nniss%C3%A4-im-drunk.html
Yes, I also listen to metal. I tried to name some of my favourite bands on my profile page. But I also stumble upon new albums and artist every week, so it's nearly impossible to list them all. I also like to go to concerts, whenever my schedule allows it. For example, I'm looking forwards to see Rotting Christ in a few weeks.
Celtic Frosts album Monotheist is my all-time favourite.
@Manul Celtic Frost, hell yeah. Great album

I've always been more of a punk, but I like a decent amount of '80s thrash, some classic NWOBHM stuff, some trad-death/early black metal, some '00s brutal death. It's not really in my main circulation of music, but it's always there as a nice pallet cleanser.
I used to listen to a lot of 00s/early-10s metalcore, deathcore and melodic death metal in my teens (and nu metal was a guilty pleasure when I was a kid) but that's really not my speed anymore.
Today I mostly dig sludge metal (as in, the filthy EHG-sounding stuff, not the 'post-metal' use of the term) and some other punk/metal hybrid genres like '90s grindcore and powerviolence. I like my stuff raw and nasty, really one of my issues with a lot of 'modern' metal across various subgenres is the level of polish and over-compression in the production.
Sick as. Have you got any sludge recommendations? Iven been looking to expand my taste in that genre.
Definitely 🤘
Black Sabbath and Ozzy are probably where home is for me, but I listen to a pretty wide mix: Slayer, Pantera, Metallica, Sepultura, Rammstein, Slipknot, Motörhead, Marilyn Manson, Brujería and a lot more.
Lately I've also been digging deeper into Mexican metal. Brujería has been a favorite for a long time, and I've been discovering bands like Thell Barrio.
Always looking for something new though, especially heavier or weirder stuff. If anyone has recommendations, throw them at me. 🤘🔥
Hi! I was really into metal last year, even though I just scratched the surface. Love Bathory, Ulver, Morbid and Dissection...
Me! Some of my favorites are Crypt Sermon, Candlemass, Dream Unending, Acid Witch, Batushka (now Patriarkh), Electric Wizard, Lifelover.
I'm admittedly more of a rocker than a metal fan but I'd still consider myself one, I've been listening to a band called Blood Howl a lot lately
Totally man 🤘🤘 I usually stick to more traditional 70s-80s metal like Ozzy, Motorhead, and Iron maiden, but i also like some surface-level thrash bands like metallica and slayer, as well as some melo-death stuff and occasionally sum 00s-early 10s metalcore. I'm also hella into industrial shit like skinny puppy, ministry, and Nine Inch Nails. However i think SOAD and marilyn manson are my top 2 metal bands.
