I'm putting together a summer playlist

Give me recommendations of stuff of which I have not heard, but which sounds like summer. I'm usually into a little alt rock, punk, emo, grunge...ah hell, I should just say I'm an elder emo. Gimme some summer recommendations to blare in my ancient jalopy.

for me, crushed by cocteau twins feels like sitting by the beach in the evening, with a slow breeze flowing through my hair :))

Doesn't qualify as something you 'haven't heard', but I think it's good for 'punk' and 'summer playlist' at least

another one: have you ever spent time by a forested lakeside during a summer rain? there's something ecstatic about the heat rising from the earth and the smell of wet soil, followed by that sudden coolness in the air. martina topley's sandpaper kisses feels like that to me.

definitely shonen knife!! they're an all girl japanese punk rock band with a bright, upbeat, slightly quirky sound. super fun and their songs are def perfect for summer (*ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)
