Preferably from non-western authors, since I'd like to broaden my wordview. I've already read poems by Yunus Emre, the Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, No longer human by Osamu Dazai for example.

El Llano en Llamas by Juan Rulfo

The Republic of Wine by Mo Yan
The Vegetarian - Han Kang
Had to read it for my english class, it psychological horror i think
I usually never get scared by horror but this book made me feel really really really uncomfortable
The Woman Dies by Aoko Matsuda, it's a collection of short stories, I enjoyed reading that (though certain stories made me uncomfortable, but that's the point). Also, Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata, i wouldn't say i had "fun" reading it, because it hit a bit too close to home, but it really was interesting
I want to recommend a Fyodor Dostoevsky "white nights". It's a short story, but so beautiful tragedy
@Mart she asked for non western authors, Dostoevsky is from russian europe.
@feralschizoid oh, I'm sorry
