Wallpaper/Image websites with no AI?

Back to Web & Tech

What sources do you use for wallpapers/stock photos that don't feature AI generated images? I'm so sick and tired of having to triple check everything... any websites that were around in early 10's and have timestamps or archives you're personally familiar with?

Wallpaper Engine's top stuff and approved wallpapers are usually non-AI, that's my go-to

the frutiger aero archive has a pretty cool selection of wallpapers worth checking out

lol i was just about to comment that, my wallpaper is from there and its good quality @dj

Unsplash is a great site!

@Def3ct i was about to suggest that actually, lots of good oldschool wallpapers there!

noDisco here. 5 times the value but 3 times the production time! the joys of indie music.

@Def3ct

i think i found your pfp OMGGGGGG XDD.. its a cool pfp tho

i just find gifs i like and tweak em with css :meow:

All of the above ^

But also if you need to just google things, if you add "before:2022" (or any earlier year of your choosing) to the end of your search, it totally strips AI stuff out of the results because it'll only show you things posted before the given year. 👍

@𝘼𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙧 that's what I'm doing but it doesn't fully work on duckduckgo, AI is still present in the search results even with the toggle on 'hide' (probably because not everyone who uploads it admits it) and even with the date search (my go-to is between 2006-2016, going wider or earlier also breaks the function...)

Kagi search browser has an ai filter option

I'm on Chrome and I've been using the Custom date range to limit stuff to before AI took off (maybe 2024? it was around but I don't think as egregious as it is now).

Only issue is I'm potentially missing out on good stuff that is current and not AI. But the AI drowns out the good current stuff so bad now. :/
