Pre-Stonewall songs for PRIDE

Back to Music

I almost forgot! I made a playlist of old songs from before Stonewall. All LGBTQIA+ themed (intentional or not), or by LGBTQIA+ artists (closeted or not).

Please understand that old song lyrics don't always 'age' well, but I think this list's songs intended to be positive!

Love this! Thank you for sharing!!

@houkiboshi‧₊˚✩彡 happy to! Glad you like it! 😊

I keep meaning to add and forgetting. But in case no one has added her, I nominate anything by Ma Rainey https://www.facebook.com/share/v/196RpEGtRp/

Sorry that the link goes to the Book of Faces

Live. Love. Laugh. Be stunning. - Miss Piggy

@Witchy Cuban Crocodile Ma's song "Prove it on Me" is on the list 😊

@Cranky Old Witch woot!

Live. Love. Laugh. Be stunning. - Miss Piggy

I'll definitely be listening to these beautiful songs!!! Thank you so much for sharing ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧

Wow it’s crazy to think there were pro-lgbt songs before stonewall happened. I feel like that’s when gay rights were brought to the public eye for the first time, as someone who’s both gay and loves history it seems like gay history was severely underreported before stonewall. Gonna check it out!!

Omg you gotta add I Like Bananas (Because They Have No Bones) by Henry Hall and George Elrick It's so catchy lol

@bryyyc omg omg omg, I am adding this to the playlist!

So niceee ! I love it !

@CrocoKroc 🥰

i once had a trans masc friend who loved 60s-70s rock and had somehow never heard “i’m a boy.” he was overjoyed when i linked him to it. really great list here!!!
