Right now I’m into the basics of emo music like my chem, pierce the veil, fall out boy, falling in reverse, blink 182, you know. The basics. And I’m really loving the genre and I’m looking for smaller bands to support but I don’t mind bigger bands at all! Good music is all I care about :))) THANKZZZ
some actual 2000s bands I think r good are like April's Love Affair, Bullet For Pretty Boy, and I Set My Friends On Fire - maybe sort of A Heartwell Ending but they've recently come back and have gotten a little weird
a more modern similar one is death_on_impact
if you're looking more pop punk (like the mentioned bands) there's The Academy Is..., Thursday, Taking Back Sunday, Spitalfield, Midtown, Cute Is What We Aim For, Panic! At The Disco (1st album specifically)
most of these are bigger bands tho
Some nineties stuff is also good to have a look at as well. I wouldn't call myself an official emo but I do listen to a lot of emo music, I just has no care for separating them by waves or whatever. American Football is very soft and long, bands such as Far Apart are raw and expressive. Sunny Day Real estate as well!

there's a newer artist i found on tt called mattstagraham who does pop punk but i've only listened to one song by him. it's called caffeine and is amazing.

Thursday, late third wave/early third wave, Full Collapse is a really really good album that i strongly recommend
Train Breaks Down, fifth wave, their self titled and live album are perfect. they're such great band that really captures emo imo
For Her I Can Be A Hero, emoviolence, (my FAVORITE emoviolence band), listen to One Sided Romance and their 2001 demo. they're soooooo good please listen to them, i love them sm
Taking Back Sunday, early third wave, Tell All Your Friends is probably one of the best third wave albums to come out, especially when you compare it to the main stream pop-punk and easycore scene that had taken over "emo" spaces.
Saosin, third wave, Translating The Name is possibly THE third wave EP. saosin saw some mainstream success in the 2000s, but it was never really to the extent of bands like TBS. however, i think Translating The Name is possibly the best third wave EP.
combatwoundedveteran, emoviolence, their entire discogaphy is amazing. they're like lightning in a bottle imo. of the original 90s and 2000s emoviolence bands, combatwoundedveteran is probably one of the most memorable because of just how well they did it. there's not really much else to say, you really just have to experience it yourself
