Honestly, some of the easiest things to try are candle dressing (rubbing a little olive oil on a simple tealight while focusing on a goal like peace or focus), or making a basic jar spell. Even simpler would be something like kitchen witchcraft! Just stirring your morning coffee or tea with an intention in mind (clockwise to bring good things in, counter-clockwise to banish the bad) is everyday magic at its finest.

For reading material, I always recommend starting with The Green Witch by Arin Murphy-Hiscock if you want something grounded in earth-based practice. If you want to dive into the deeper spiritual and historical side, The Spiral Dance by Starhawk is a classic. As for blogs, definitely check out the journal on Tamed Wild or poke around Patheos Pagan! It's a huge hub where a ton of different writers share their daily practices and thoughts.

As for timing, witches follow the Wheel of the Year, which is just eight seasonal holidays tied to nature. One of the biggest ones you've probably heard of is Samhain, and that falls on October 31st! It acts as our New Year and marks the end of the harvest and a time when the veil between our world and the spirit world is at its thinnest. Witches use Samhain to honour ancestors, do divination like tarot, and let go of old habits before winter.

For day-to-day work throughout the rest of the year, keeping an eye on the moon phases is your best bet:

New Moon: Great for fresh starts and setting new intentions.
Waxing Moon (growing): Best for attraction magic (drawing in luck, love, or goals).
