Things that don't really exist anymore

There's some things I've noticed that have faded out with time

1. Smart phones don't make an annoying sound every few minutes when the battery is low
2. Those catalogs you used to get in the mail that were for ordering party supplies
3. PC cases come with windows and lights as standard now, basic bland PC cases are rare to find
4. "diet" sodas are being replaced with "zero sugar" sodas
5. A big issue right now is physical media being phased out in favor of digital downloads

I miss the plastic PC cases. I kinda want one that looks like a 90s tower but glossy black

I mean it makes sense for the PC cases. They are very low margin items and quite a few will actually lose money. Since PC part prices have gone up a lot of case manufacturers are actually going under since people aren't buying. But things that aren't around anymore, payphones.

Video game developers building their own custom game engine. Everyone just uses Unreal and Unity now.  

The TV Guide channel and the weather channel. 

seasonal episodes of television! since shows tend not to be released the same way and are shorter in season, we have way fewer ‘christmas episodes’ and ‘halloween episodes’ than before. i miss the halloween episodes especially! and the holiday episodes of gossip girl were always the best. there was something about anchoring those shows to our world, and for a moment you were experiencing something with the characters. and it was a bit of a break from reality within the show, to see the formula of whatever show change for a bit. and then it happened again next year, every year. it was great! the holiday marathons were so special, i didn’t even care that i didn’t celebrate christmas. it felt so weird and magical to me i just wanted to watch it happen. 

Calling for a taxi. It's all done through rideshare apps instead now.

Also CDs but I see those making a comeback similar to Vinyls soon with how out of control these subscription services have gotten.

tape recorders aimed at children. i don't know how many hours i spent with mine. nowadays kids have entire filmmaking/audio production suites on their phones. i'm not actually sure that this is a bad thing though!

I haven't seen a phone book in like, over a decade? Very few people have landlines nowadays I've noticed.

Pseudo flippers! Remember when we first crawled out of the ocean and had to flop around a bit with pseudo flippers? Just not the same since we developed arms and legs!

actually going to groccery store. this is one i actually hate because i used to love going to the store but now my mom just gets everyting delivered. it also means i cant pick out what kind of shampoo, body wash, ect that i want because she buys all that stuff.
