Book recommendations

Okay so this is my first Forum topic ^^

I’ve really been getting into reading this year specifically YA romances (cheesy ikik) but I really like em I’m also wanting to read horror but it’s hard convincing the Christian parents yk.

So I was wondering does anyone have any recommendations? It has to be absolutely no spice and unfortunately wlm cuz my parents are very homophobic :( but if u do have recommendations that are LGBTQ+ ill look into them and see if i can read them online

Tbh I’ve only read like 5 books this year..I have so many hobbies I just forget about reading but if u want to know the books I’ve read lmk!

I already have like 25 books I got to read..but like the more the better hehe

The count of monte cristo is a historical romance during post-capture napoleon France I really recommend it. Also the Phantom of opera is a classic horror book that’s also really good. 

What kind of horror novel are you looking for? Are you looking for spooky, monsters, ghosts, murder thrillers/mysteries, domestic thrillers? Once you let me know I can give you some recs that your parents could possibly approve that have no spice or talks of romantic preference. ☺

"The Three Sources and Three Component Parts" is a classic and also available readily online.

i'd really recommend don quixote! it's a parody of the chivalric romance, its pretty funny and easy to understand 

I definitely recommend Five Survive by Holly Jackson if you haven't read it already!! She also wrote the Kill Joy series, which is fantastic!!

a YA romance I enjoyed with queerness but a wlm relationship is Perfect on Paper by Sophie Gonzales! only a slight hint to the queerness on the blurb so perhaps something you could get away with actually owning? if not then at least you can check it out online!
