if you could choose to know any language in the world, what would it be?

for me it's brazilian portuguese

I was literally about to make a forum asking people if they knew any other languages lol.

I have dipped my toes into multiple different languages over the years. I guess if I would have to pick the ones I would love to be 100% fluent in, I would say Mandarin and Japanese. I am around HSK 3-4 in Chinese already so I would like to improve it. I would love to visit both China and Japan so they are up there. Those are my top two languages of all time but my top two East Asian languages.

I am working on improving my Biblical Hebrew skills for using a Siddur (I can already read but it takes me agesss), I don't really have too too much interest in learning Modern Hebrew. I did want to try and learn some Yiddish because I love old Jewish folk songs from central and Eastern Europe.

For European languages, its gotta be either French or Spanish, leaning more towards Spanish though.

There's too many languages man and they're all really interesting 😭 

I have a few, Chinese, Japanese, Hungarian, German or Latvian (which for all of these I have just started to learn and I understand mayyyyybe 2 words D:) 

either fully know georgian or arabic....

For some reason I tend to gravitate to old dead languages.

I'd love to learn Old English (Saxon)

either Japanese or Dutch tbh, maybe swedish!

Does sign language count? Because i always has been so interested about it and i know the language is different in every country so im not sure which one of all of them i would like to know, maybe american (ASL) or LSV (that one is from my country) i just think sl in general is amazing because me as a person sometimes i HATE speaking and i would love so much to communicate using my hands 

Is it basic of me to say Japanese and Spanish?

Polish. Currently learning but it’s a pain in the ass!! I wish I just knew it but my mom stopped speaking to me in Polish when I moved to Canada so I gotta learn on my own if I wanna talk casually whenever I visit family.

I'd say german, but i'm already in the process of learning that one, so either russian or chinese.

Probably Amharic, I've been trying to learn little bits of it lately & I find it to be such an interesting language. And the written language (Ge'ez script) is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen! 

I already put in a decade's length of hard work to get my Mandarin at an almost advanced level, so I would love to already know Japanese or Korean! I used to study Japanese alongside Mandarin back in college (TERRIBLE idea, 0/10 would not recommend), but since my husband is from China, I made Mandarin my priority language to learn.

I'm trying to get back into studying Japanese since already knowing Mandarin is low-key cheating when it comes to Japanese kanji :P Also, Korean would also be cool for me to know since I listen to a lot of K-Pop and don't know what they're singing, haha!

Haitian Creole. It's my dad's native language, but he never got to teach me. It sounds similar to French (which he also knows, what a flex!) but I think cursing sounds so funny in creole compared to any other language

Chinese. Really wouldn't mind moving to China and out of my shitty country.

chinese or french .. they sound so pretty and i’ve already dabbled in both a bit … 

japanese. its relatively close to where i live, much of the media i consume is from there, and im already learning it. besides the culture is really interesting to me

Spanish since it’s supposed to be my native language but my parents never taught me it and I’m starting to forget how to speak it 🥲
