would you rather be a fire lookout or lighthouse keeper?

i've been thinking about this all day now...
i think i would have to swap seasonally, summer and autumn as a fire lookout and lighthouse keeper in the off-season

they're both dream jobs for sure (if probably extinct jobs lol) ;P

Oh, lighthouse keeper. I'm guessing there are more jobs to do around a lighthouse? I don't know, but I've always liked the sound of it.

I think swapping is a good idea, but I'd do the reverse - lighthouse keeping in the summer + autumn, then fire lookout in the winter + spring. I feel like fire and ocean conditions are better in those seasons, so it'll be less stressful :D

i wanna say lighthouse keeper because I prefer the ocean but i've seen the film The Lighthouse and i dont think it worked out too well for those guys...

If I had to choose just one I'd choose the fire lookout, I love the woods and mountains. I think I'd really thrive as one because I love hiking and just spending time in nature, heights don't bother me, and I already spend most of my time to myself

I definitely wouldn't mind being a lighthouse keeper at all, but I just slightly love the woods more than the ocean

Though, you're definitely right that swapping seasonally would be the move

I thought this would be a really easy choice, I'd go with firewatch 100%... if it weren't for all the massive bugs out in nature where I live. I want neighbours who would respect my personal living space, no fish will come in through my door and start causing problems for me. I can make a lighthouse job work for however long the season is; I like looking at the ocean. Even if I don't have internet out there, I have a big enough steam library and media backlog to last me.

Lighthouse keeper for sure. Specifically bc I have reactive airways, so potentially being around wildfire smoke would be no bueno for me, especially out in the middle of nowhere. 

Fire lookout. Always. I love the ocean but I couldn't stand being stranded out in one. Put me in a forest and I'm exactly where I need to be.

i like walking on rocky beaches bc u have to try hard not to catch your foot or something which sounds annoying but i find it fun so its the lighthouse for me!!!
