really weird/illogical things that happen in books

what weird shit happens in books u like cuz oh my god i can talk a lot about this for hours

so i really like frankenstein. ok. it is from the 1810s-1830s and the first sci-fi book like ever so you'd obviously expect it to be a little illogical. but the MAIN THING that happens in that book is so stupid

i know that its meant to be like a metaphor for a lot of things mainly miscarriage, and that he was in some form of episode for the TWO YEARS he was working on that thing. okay. but it is so dumb. why did victor create the creature. genuinely what was the point. ah yes i will excel and find out the secrets of the universe and of god and i will... create a man out of dead body parts. totally logical. the thing is i do kinda understand it because im an occultist so i understand the 'i will do weird shit and make weird things to find out more about them' but did he not ONCE think about the consequences of it?

i can imagine that he'd be thinking of the knowledge, of how he'd be celebrated, etc but he was also very very manic in a way because he kept himself locked up for 2 years ONLY making that thing and he didnt even fully want to do it. but i guess i can kinda understand it #empath

but that isnt the worst part. other parts are illogical too. how the fuck did he keep the creature from rotting? how did he keep the creation of that thing up for 2 years without going out of his mental state and realising 'fuuck nevermind' and stopping, or dying from malnutrition? how is the creature not rotting by the send of the book? im pretty sure victor ends up falling asleep on a boat and that boat takes him to fucking ireland or something (either ireland or some other place in the uk). how did he not get locked up in a mental asylum? how the fuck did the creature fully scale a mountain within seconds? im so bamboozled by this entire book

once on my grannys doorbell, a guitar strum was recorded in the middle of the night just a while after my grandfather died, who was coincidentally very fixated on guitars and guitarists and played it everyday himself
