What are some quick easy fun crafts to do in one afternoon? What about a long term project that's been your favorite? Please feel free to post pictures of your craftiness :)
i don't have any pics, but i used to sew little felt bunnies. i wanted to make them into hand warmers, but ultimately didn't. they each had different fabric and button (eyes) combinations, and i liked to try and make personalities for them. also baking! i dunno if everyone considers baking a craft, but i sorta do. i made strawberry muffins last weekend, which were really good.
but as for right now, i'm trying to get into sewing clothing. i'm not very used to using a sewing machine, so i thought making clothes would be a fun way to get myself to learn.
are they left searching for me in eternity?

I have a lot of stuff for making jewelry, so if I have the space I like to do that. I'll just pull out my boxes and see what I feel like making. If I don't feel like thinking as much, I usually cross stitch because I have a ton of patterns.
I really like messing around with polymer/air dry clay! It's something I haven't really done in a while but nothing beats making something with my hands :)

I just made some little teeny boxes out of toilet paper rolls. There's tutorials all over the internet. I'm using mine to hold my necklaces so they don't get tangled up when I pack them up to travel, but you could use the boxes for sooo many things, like stickers or beads or whatever!
Something to do in an afternoon... hmm. I agree with siopao, baking is something you can easily do in an afternoon. Muffins, biscuits, brownies, etc. If you're feeling adventurous, a basic loaf of bread is a good challenge --if you don't have a loaf pan or some sort of oven-safe dish, you can turn it into rolls.
If you want something that doesn't involve food, you can make your own rubber stamps with some cheap erasers and a craft knife! =D
I've dabbled in lino stamps recently and liked it, but I really like screenwriting, too. It's fun to make your own shirts and stuff, and very satisfying, but it is definitely more time consuming.

Bookmarks! - coloring pencils + strong paper
Earrings! - Pliers for looming holes + Earrings hooks
Paper crafts - you know scissors and paper!
Painted rocks - paint markers + maybe a coat to protect the painting
