niche hobbies

am i posting this right after making a tiny blog post about the same topic. yes. and thats okay

i need to get a hobby to pass the time and im tired of recommendations like "journal" "draw" "write" play instrument" and other stuff ive already heard hundreds of times. all of those things are actually kind of irritating especially once its all that you can do so if anyone has niche hobbies that maybe i havent heard of already i would LOVEEEE to hear them. you can even make one up. its ok to get creative with it

Hobbies so niche nobody knows abt of them xD have you ever heard of crocheting ? it's basically knitting but with a crochet :P

bookbinding!! i haven't done it in a while but i love making little notebooks and i've also bound some of my friends' fanfiction!! lots of opportunity to make people cute gifts! i'm also a big crafter in general so i make my own paper with all the paper scraps i produce :-)

-literally just get creative and make stuff. it could be shit or not shit like make make make!! if your room is a bit bland, make decorations for your room or your desk!! i made posters, character standees for my ocs, stars hanging off my ceiling!!

-you can try discovering new music artists too!!! it's literally how i found out my music taste lol <3

I really love making charts in Excel to categorize some of the data I find on the Internet Archive or old magazines I have on hand. I assume that you can also use SQL for this, but I have yet to learn it

For example, I own an issue of a now defunct heavy music magazine called Sounds of Death (SOD); what I've slowly been doing is cataloguing every single artist who's mentioned in the issue, what their promoted record is, their genre, etc. There are several names that I don't recognize and who don't have their material on YouTube or streaming, only... "other sources" if at all

Sorting non-digitized data in searchable charts is more fun than it sounds, I promise, especially if it's concerning a topic you enjoy
