Myelin

 Hello there mortal...

Welcome to my laboratory! You can call me Myelin, but a lot of people also know me as Mads (my irl name) or North (my original cyberspace alias). I started trying to be a human in September of 2000 AD. I was fortunate to have some tech nerds as parents, so I had my own PC starting in preschool. Despite this, I was barely allowed to use anything social other than World of Warcraft and Club Penguin for the longest, so this website is very cathartic for me lolol

Random friend requests are always welcome! I may not accept everyone, or respond to things like DMs or comments right away, but it's nothing personal. Likewise, no offense taken if someone wants to unfriend or block me. I'm mostly looking to befriend people aged 21+ who share similar interests or ideals. Keep in mind I have a lot of interests not listed (for now)! And since I have so much edgy stuff on my profile, I should also clarify that I get second-hand embarrassment from people who like shock value or cruelty too much x_x

I'm in college but going veeeery slowly due to physical health issues. Currently working towards nursing but heavily considering switching to medical lab science. I'd just like to dedicate my life to human biology in some way. It's very satisfying to learn about how all the systems of the body work together, and there's a lot of good one can do with that knowledge. Anthropology and history are also very interesting to me, but I consider myself much more of an amateur in those areas.

As for (arguably) nerdier interests, otaku culture and fiction in general has been the largest contributor to my joie de vivre. It's difficult to pin down my favorite genres, but I usually love just about anything that sees beauty in the mundane, or stories about people finding their own form of peace in chaotic worlds. Optimistic stories that do not shy away from the ugly parts of life speak to my soul. 

I also spend a lot of time in the world of Azeroth, both the RTS and MMO. It's difficult to explain just how personal my connection to the franchise is, but it has been with me for my entire life. I've always had a weak constitution and a poor home life, so it was a blessing to be able to have a world I can explore to my heart's content when I had so little freedom elsewhere. If you couldn't tell, I am undead 4 unlife, btw. (I also only play pre-cata versions of the game, sorry)

I also do a little bit of kinning and selfshipping for those who need to know. I'll make a list eventually. I don't take it as seriously as I did a decade ago, but it's still fun lol
