i love music, first and foremost. its the first thing to know about me. i believe it is the meaning of life but yk.. to each their own (im right). i love playing instruments, singing, performing, and listening to music. its the first and most important descriptor of who i am. i also love other musicians! please be my friend if you are a musician. please :(

i like history!! modern, wartime, classical, ancient, prehistoric, in alllll its formats. big on dinosaurs, big on ancient greece, big on pre- romans british isles, all that shit. (and No, Rupert Lowe, England does not and has never had an indigenous population. and NO, Rupert Lowe, the nearest thing we ever had to one was not Christian, but pagan. dimwit.)

literature!1!! gimme some of that. i am taking an english lit GCSE and we study poetry, a christmas carol, macbeth, and an inspector calls. i like that acc. aic, and the poetry anthology are all socialist. i do NOT enjoy reading shakespeare, but i have a comic of macbeth so i can read it anyway.

sociology, sociopolitics, i am oftentmes incredibly annoying with how many fucks i give about this but i dont care. i am the most political person everyone who knows me has ever met. i am a leftist. if that is a problem, unkindly, leave!!

I also love Whiplash! its on the gcse curriculum so i have to study it, and i have a LOT to say, good and bad. might post a blog about it sometime. who knows...

Watched a horror film called Eli last year, that was great, earns a spot on the list cause its been a year and i still bring it up

ok now that like book series are out of the way, here are some individual books ive read that are indescribably peak:

- Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin. this was a lifechanging read. when my mother was 11 years old, she read it and it changed her forever so she saved it incase she ever had a child. when i was 11 years old, i read it in one night, it changed me forever, and i still have it. it is ASTOUNDING and helped me process some pretty heavy stuff that had gone on when i was a toddler.
- The loneliest girl in the universe (i dont know who wrote this) i read this at a similar time to elsewhere, and while it wasnt lifechanging or anything it was really fucking good
- From out of the blue (also dont know the author) banging, also when i was 11. discovered some peak books that age
- The Girl With All The Gifts. Just read it.
- Thirteen Storeys by Jonathan Sims (name twins!! i am also technically a jonathan, but call me Jee.) one of my favourites, its just really fun. love his writing, he also did The Magnus Archives, which is an audio drama, and was AMAzING. I strongly recommend involving yourself with his work. his band (The Mechanisms, disbanded 2020) his podcasts (TMA and TMAGP) and his books. Phenomenal guy. 

Now i get to rattle on about comics, ill try keep it brief ish.

- Little Monsters 
- The Umbrella Acadmemy (have we picked up that i love Gerard Way by now? good) my favourite character is Klaus! the show is also good, but i havent finished it yet. everything gerard way does is so distinctly him, and this is an amazing example.
- KILLJOYS. READ KILLJOYS. I LOVE THE KILLJOYS.
- deadpool comics!! so soso funny i love the breaking the fourth wall and the humour 
- spiderman comics are also quite good
- right now im reading cyberpunk 2077 because i have a friend who loves the game (?), thats proving to be great too!

okok here we go

1. Gerard Way- him and his music got me through a LOT of shit. MCR undoubtedly saved my life this past summer, while im still mentally ill im not in the same way and life seems worth it for music and people now. His own personal journey with mental health and recovery is also very inspiring, and i (literally) owe him my life.

2. Frank Iero- BARKBARKBARKBARKBARK HOLY SHIT HES SO FUCKING SEXY

3. my grandad- i love my grandad!!!! hes peak, he gives me lifts, hes the father i never had, he supports my music and always tells me stories from when he was a band manager for this guy Paul when he was younger. i love my grandad

4. my out of school music teacher- hes funny, he plays dnd, hes very talented, hes very kind, hes been teaching me singing and piano for coming up on 7 years, and he is the reason i am a musician (and i hate to say but a fairly decent one) today.

5. my in school music teacher- had him for a few years, insanely talented guy. favourite teacher by miles

6. did i mention FRANKALICIOUS IERO BARKBARK BARK

uhmmm im not a massive gamer tbh. i like some story games, but even then i prefer watching playthroughs like a film or even video essays and game analysis and theories...? i learnt the plot of countless story games via watching theory videos before i even knew the full title. im not scared of games or anything, they just arent too exciting. id rather watch someone else play one than do it myself yk? but here are some games i like to watch.

- detroit become human
- resident evil. (i admit it! im a larp! i like them for leon kennedy!!! i dont give a fuck about resident evil 7 or whatever!! i like 2 4, 6. and requiem. what number is requiem? i wanna say 9 but then what would 8 be? no is 8 biohazard? are 7 and 8 both ethan winters? i KNOW ethan winters because my friend- the one who likes cyberpunk- likes him.)
- THE STANLEY PARABLE I LOVE IT I LOVE IT (ive even played deluxe to completion!! rare for me.)
- portal!! this one i actually played 1 and 2!! super fun puzzles while still a story game oughhh i love it
- uhhhhh i have dabbled in poppy playtime but i dont know the lore and i only KNOW the first 3 games, i larped the other 2 (or 3? how many chapters are out??)
- i recently watched a video essay about What Remains Of Edith Finch, and it was super interesting so then i watched the first hour or so of a playthrough? and then i got super duper distracted reading so even though it was on in the background for another half hour, i didnt really take it in. this to say, my knowledge of the game mainly comes from the video essay and a clip of a boy on the swing i saw on tiktok...?
- i think class of 09 is quite good, the newer shit is tired but before puzzle showdown or whatever its all great. fun for thoughtless shock humour AND as a social commentary. love love love
- im sure theres more im forgetting tbh. ill be back eventually..
