You ever see that "slime" in the movie Coraline and think Iccck, what is that? You may scoff at it but it used to be the talk of the dinner table and it took such precision to get the filling to artistically sit in the jello mold in such a fashion as to impress any dinner guest. In the 50's and 60's, though times were tough and families had to make do with what was in the pantry and leftover from the fridge, aspics were thus created and enjoyed. You don't hear about them much anymore but we definitely must bring them back.

I personally wouldn't eat it but I found it interesting that there are so many different ways to lay an aspic. It's a culinary art but I still shudder the way Coraline did in the movie. I wouldn't mix my vegetables with jello. I would add fruit if anything. :)
