Honestly I really relate to this. I think a lot of us have gotten so used to trying to make everything āworth postingā that we forget weāre literally just talking to other people. Not every thought has to be a masterpiece or have some deep meaning behind it to be worth sharing. I also think the āsocial media is deadā thing is interesting because sometimes we leave one platform looking for something more genuine, but we accidentally bring the same habits with us, overthinking, trying to be interesting, worrying about engagement, etc. Itās kind of hard to unlearn that. And yeah, I donāt think the 2000s were magically perfect, but I do miss the idea of people just posting things because they wanted to, not because they thought it would perform well. Sometimes random, silly, or āpointlessā conversations are the ones that end up creating the best memories.
Anyway, I think this was actually a good reminder. People donāt always need to be impressive or profound, sometimes just being genuine is enough. :) |
