saw that under a post saying smth like "why cant ppl be more active on sites like this?"
yk how a gazillion teens rn are like "normal social media feels dead so im here" im here for the same reason but now im like even if we hate other socials we kinda carry the behaviour we have there to here. (OBVIOUSLY NOT EVERYONE) but id say i personally act way different than id want to here, like i dont post everything id want to cuz i think like "nobodys gonna be interested in reading this?" or id be halfway thru writing a massive comment on a blog/ bulletin or forum and whatnot only to delete it cz i think its obvious or adds nothing to the topic. and im assuming a bunch of other ppl act the same. bc of the "make eveything as eyecatching, direct and short as possible" kinda content, its rubbed off on me and others i think.
all ive been hearing rn is like "i wish i lived in the 2000s bc everything was better" (sorry if u were rly there in the 2000s and i sound like a total idiot to ya, i just wanna talk abt whatevr). yeah everything was better bc ppl werent worrying abt how to constuct the shortest possible blog to keep ur attention, or try to think of smth interesting and clever to comment. everyone just did whatever the hell they wanted to. obvi it didnt always result in the best outcome, who cares? u make memories like that idk smth smth character development.
even tho im blabbing abt all this im probably still gonna act the same. but you shouldnt! lmao ik if someone doesnt they wont but think abt it.
im not saying to make like 20 blogs about how u just woke up and feel weird cz u slept late. but dont try to act diff or change urself to seem more interesting and not talking abt things ur rly interested in cz "nobody cares?". i promise theres at least one person going thru the most recent posts all the time, somebody will read urs.
i have no idea who im catering this to, i mixed my experiences and assumptions into a massive mush at this point. even tho this is the most un-thought-thru blog ive done yet. but if u made it here ty for reading
(lol i think ill start signing stuff now, idk i cant decide for shit i might change my mind)

Honestly I really relate to this. I think a lot of us have gotten so used to trying to make everything “worth posting” that we forget we’re literally just talking to other people. Not every thought has to be a masterpiece or have some deep meaning behind it to be worth sharing.
I also think the “social media is dead” thing is interesting because sometimes we leave one platform looking for something more genuine, but we accidentally bring the same habits with us, overthinking, trying to be interesting, worrying about engagement, etc. It’s kind of hard to unlearn that.
And yeah, I don’t think the 2000s were magically perfect, but I do miss the idea of people just posting things because they wanted to, not because they thought it would perform well. Sometimes random, silly, or “pointless” conversations are the ones that end up creating the best memories.
Anyway, I think this was actually a good reminder. People don’t always need to be impressive or profound, sometimes just being genuine is enough. :)
