favorite memory of an old friend

everyone has an "ex-friend/bestfriend," and we all have good memories with them even if your friendship has ran its course.

one of my absolute favorite memories i find myself thinking about is when my bestfriend and i were standing at this vending machine that had drinks in it, and we were looking at the drinks deciding if we wanted one or not.

as we were talking and looking at the drinks, we both notice the whole row of pure life tea bottles on the bottom. and at the same time, in sync, we both said "i wanted tea but didn't see purple" word for word. if you don't know, pure life has colored labels on their bottles to tell you if it's sweet or unsweet. purple is extra sweet.

we were often in sync like that a lot, whether it was our speech or movements. i think about this moment a lot because it was genuinely so funny when it happened, and it freaked her out a little bit and that was also funny. we literally shared a brain cell when we were together.

tell me your favorite memory with a friend :)

I really understand what you mean. Even when a friendship ends or people grow apart, it doesn’t erase all the good moments you shared with that person. Sometimes those little random memories are the ones that stay with you the most.

My favorite memory with an old friend was on my birthday. He came over, we ate cake, and we played on his console together. It might sound like a simple thing, but it meant a lot to me because before that, I had never had a friend come to my birthday. It was always just my family celebrating with me.

Seeing him there, sitting with my mom and my brother, singing happy birthday with them, is something I’ll never forget. It was one of those moments where I felt really happy and grateful because I realized I wasn’t just celebrating another year, I was sharing a special moment with someone who mattered to me.

I also love memories like yours because they show the little things that make a friendship special. Those random “we share the same brain cell” moments are honestly the best. They might seem insignificant to everyone else, but for the people who lived them, they become memories you carry for years.

Thank you for sharing yours, it was really sweet to read ʕ•́ᴥ•̀ʔっ

that is so meaningful. i also understand why your friend being there for your birthday is so special for you, it is no simple thing at all! all of my birthdays have been spent with only family as well, so having someone else there that comes from outside your family that cares enough to be there for you on your special day must mean the world! thank you for sharing :)
