How was water even made?

water (H2O) is a compound molecule made up of two hydrogen atoms bonded to one oxygen atom in the middle. It creates a ‘bent-shape’ molecule with high affinity to other surrounding water molecules. The strong bonds between water molecules are what we call hydrogen bonds (any bond between hydrogen and oxygen, nitrogen or fluorine) and these bonds are so strong that water creates a coherent and cohesive surface — hence why water gets things wet and sticks so well to itself. 

now onto your questions.

it was ‘made’ by the attraction and subsequent bonding of said atoms discussed above. like another comment under this blog said, both atoms were created billions of years due to the big bang and the overall development of the universe and cosmic bodies such as stars. the cores of stars are where a lot of atomic fusion happens, hence why heavier atoms like oxygen, in this case, can be produced. 

Look at this excerpt from the Wikipedia article for the Origin of water on Earth: “ It was long thought that Earth's water did not originate from the planet's region of the protoplanetary disk. Instead, it was hypothesized that water and other volatilesmust have been delivered to Earth from the outer Solar System later in its history.[3]Recent research, however, indicates that hydrogen inside the Earth played a role in the formation of the ocean.[4] The two ideas are not mutually exclusive, as there is also evidence that water was delivered to Earth by impacts from icy planetesimals similar in composition to asteroids in the outer edges of the asteroid belt.^[5]”

The reason why water is clear takes more explanation. Pure water technically does have a colour under laboratory measurements, that being very pale blue. However to the naked eye, water tends to be clear. Colour is merely our perception of reflected light wavelengths. Light from the sun, our main source of light, includes light of all visible wavelengths (colours), and normally when an object is coloured, the corresponding wavelength to that colour is reflected rather than being absorbed like the others are. However, water to the naked eye does not reflect any specific wavelength of light, so it ends up having no apparent colour.
