Blindsight by Peter Watts. Sci-fi about an alien encounter where the alien is incredibly intelligent and adaptable, but at the same time wholly unconscious. Highlights some interesting philosophical dilemmas

Middle of the Night by Riley Sager is a really good thriller mystery type novel! Probably my favourite by him!
The Lantern of Lost Memories by Sanakan Hiiragi. This is a really beautiful novel.

I've never was a books person, but my favorite def is frankenstein yeah kinda common but I love it
