As of recent, I've had a lot of time to think about life and death. But now I realized something about myself; I'm not afraid of dying, at least, not anymore. I just can't find myself to fear this thing society is actively trying to prevent. There is so much media out there showing and encouraging others to not age because, as we know, signs of age are the previous footsteps of the reaper as the more there are, the closer she comes. But there's just no point to this! Listen, I can understand the fear of heights, the fear of bugs, even the fear of the outside world! But death? Really? I don't mean to offend anyone but as I see it, you're just fearing the future and the future is the worst thing to be afraid of. It may be unpredictable, but I'd rather know nothing than know everything.

i think like this too. however, the fear of death is pretty much ingrained in us because we fear the unknown. we fear what we don't understand. plus, we're born with a will to live, because we are animals and we do anything to survive. this means that the fear of death is normal, and the majority of people have it. hell, even people who attempt suicide regret it, even when it's too late. however, death is inevitable. everybody dies with no exception as to who you are or how you died. death is the fate of all of humanity. this is why i also believe religion is man-made, because humans are always trying to find explanations for things. i personally don't fear death, because i don't like fearing the unknown or what can't be understood- i'd much rather like to accept my inevitable fate, because you also don't know when you'll die.
i'd prefer to know everything than know nothing.
this is also why people don't think about it much. humans subconsciously think that as long as you're safe, you won't die, which is why they don't live their lives to the fullest, but that's an ignorant way to think, because you're never safe from death. it can happen at random. i could die while typing this from cardiac arrest caused by NOTHING. they don't think about death out of fear. it's considered a "taboo topic" because who would want to be reminded of the fate they know nothing about? humans crave knowledge, and when they can't figure something out, it scares them. they'll even treat death as if its abnormal, when really, i'd consider it a part of life rather than the end of it.
despite all of this, it's still best to live. you don't have to fear death, but i'd recommend not go seek it. i attempted several times at 11 and 12 and i'm glad i'm still here at 15, even if it still gets really hard. i'd rather see what the future holds. i'm not even an adult yet.
what if the other side is worse than what life is now?

I don't think most people think about it much, most people I'm pretty sure only think about it when someone dies or they have a near death experience that makes them realize how quick the lights could just go out one day.
I will say, as someone who has struggled with my mental health since middle school (genetic unfortunately, it runs in my family) thinking a lot about death was mostly just my extreme anxiety at the time.

i wouldnt say im super existential, but sometimes at night i think about how this is all going to end someday. it does scare me a little to be honest… but i also find comfort in it, because its one thing everyone has in common

I may be a boomer using gifs but i’m new here. I can have fun >:(.
I don’t think we should fear it, but it’s still best to avoid it. Maybe… you don’t even have to run from a murderer… you can just step slightly out of his way… and then if he kills you, well then it was fate.
And it is average to fear death even if that doesn’t make it natural, good, or… normal.
it wouldn't really be fate then, would it? wouldn't fate be trying as hard as you can not to die and if you still do die, THEN thats fate?

Yeah… i think that’s right. Buuuut my point was to avoid dying while not fearing it… exactly… I don’t think fear is necessary (at least in… every way you can describe fear as)

Maybe its that we dont need to be so emotionally attached to living.

we don't need to be, youre right. however humans have the ability to get attached to anything very easily, so its unavoidable to not be emotionally attached to living.
