Some people say you figure yourself out during your teens but I did not. I'm not sure how to explain; it's just that I don't know myself. I know 2 or 3 things that I like to do but it ends there, I'm not even sure what kind of music I like. Because I'm introverted and spent some years dealing with depression I feel like I lived on pause for too long, and it's not just me, I'm sure too many people feel like they're missing out on life because of the rise of technology and spending too much time on their phones. I thought to myself for a long time that I'll start living once I have my life figured out with a stable job and independence, but life is too short for that.
So tell me, how does one get to know themselves?

go on pinterest and twitter and find things u like like different aesthetics or songs n wtv else . like last year i didnt have an idea of how i wanted to dress but after looking thru multiple aesthetics i found a few i really like and try my best to replicate it
as for music , i’d just look at artists in my playlist and look deeper for their more unknown songs and artists similar to them . no one actually cares about genres so just knowing some bands u like helps u figure yourself out i suppose

twin this is actually a really difficult question, and obviously i haven't entirely figured it out too but,,
what comes to your mind when you think of yourself? it's okay if nothing comes to your mind at this moment. i'm pretty sure there's TONS of things you like/enjoy but can't really remember right now. but if that helps, i advise you to get into what you enjoyed when you were a kid - music, movies, hobbies; you'll realize that A LOT of things that you liked you still enjoy to this day.
if that didn't work, why don't you try new genres of music? like, today you listen to metal and its subgenres, tomorrow you go for techno [just silly examples]. the same goes for movies, games, and pretty much everything. there's some kind of joy in discovering new things about ourselves :]
