I Accidentally Listened to 27 Audiobooks This Year...

*ੈ✩‧₊˚༺☆༻*ੈ✩‧₊˚

Somehow, without really planning to, I've listen to 27 audiobooks so far in 2026.

What started as away to decrease my screen time to help manage my chronic illness, and make afternoons a little more enjoyable has honestly turned into one of my favourite parts of this year.

So rather than writing full reviews, I thought it would be more fun to turn this into an audiobook scrapbook. Each book gets a cover, completely unofficial award, and a few thoughts by yours truly.

Welcome to my listening log, 27 books, countless hours with my airpods on, 4 library cards loaded on to Libby, and plenty of options to pick from.

🏅Wish I Could Experience It for the First Time Again

I finishes this one with a heart full of happiness. Immediately put the rest of the collection on my "listen to me later" shelf.

🏅Deserves More Hype

This was the second novel I read/listen to by this author and she has such a special way of writing that brings you in and if feels like a warm hug.

🏅Kept Me Up Past My Bedtime

There was just a magical nuance to this novel. Three very different but important stories that grab you close and teach you a lesson on life.

🏅I Had To Pause and Stare at the Wall (I also took 2 Triptans and 1 Ubrelvy that day)

As a person with chronic illness the first page of this book grabbed me and pulled me in close. Make 1 thing disappear to make your life 1 day longer. Do you see the award reason now?

🏅A Little Escape From Reality

Pokopia. I played Pokopia all day while listening to this book, reminds me of Rocky Ridges. Anyhooo. What do you mean I could work in a department store curating dreams for my regular clients?!

🏅Perfect Matcha Companion

Imagine this...you work at this cozy cafe with a hidden secret. The secret is that this place allows you to go back in time to visit someone, but there is a catch...finish the visit before the coffee gets cold or....?

🏅The Book That Made My Migraine Attack Less Miserable

Can you tell I like cats and cafes. Pulled me from my pain and right into their reality. Mouthwatering food, humble cats who serve you EXACTLY what you need. They just know your needs, ok??

🏅Questioned Every Character's Life Choices

This book still lives rent free in my head. When life gives you lemons, you make it into a job that sounds too good to be true. Questions everyone and their intentions. Spoiler: Fuck Dr. Nick.

🏅Everyone Had Motive Award

Can I be honest since we are amongst friends? I didn't really like this novel. I forced myself to finish it. Felt like the Great Value version of Murder on the Orient Express. Had Riley's twist and turns but Agatha did the train ride better.

🏅I Was Wrong About Everything Award

THIS. BOOK. IS. MY. FAVOURITE. Can you tell I have been in a Riley Sager kick? The entire time I thought I knew what could have happened to that kid. In typical Riley fashion..I was wrong. Has anyone read/listen to this? I need to chat about it still.

🏅The Lady Across The Lake is an Alcoholic with Trust Issues.

This one was face paced and went supernatural. The main character is an alcoholic widow who needs to catch a grip. You and the gardener don't really need to take this mystery upon yourselves to solve. This book has major plot twist and is hard to explain without ruining the plot.

🏅Detective Badge: Self-Appointed

This was a slow burn, but you may enjoy that type of listen. A young lady goes to stay with her brother but only to find him missing and everyone in the building are not very kind or helpful.

🏅I Solved Nothing But Had Fun Trying

Girl..who gets into a car with a stranger you've never met nor hired. Halfway through the ride your trying to guess if he's a serial killer...did he kill your best friend? Is he going to kill you next? Who knows??

🏅Professional Suspect Accuser Award

False imprisonment for murdering a child in your care. Having to write letters to prove your innocence. WHO DA HELL DUN IT??

🏅Cozy Blanket & Headphones Approved

Working hard for a company for over 18 years. This book feels like a warm hug with soft laughs that goes over Japanese conformity and how it impacts each person differently. Really worth the listen. I love this one deeply.

I CAN'T DELETE THE 2 PHOTOS THAT WONT WORK AND I AM SO UPSET BECAUSE THIS BLOG TOOK ME 3.5HRS TO WRITE AND PUT TOGETHER ☹

BOOK IS BUNNIE XO - STRIPPED DOWN.

🏅The I cannot Believe I recommended This To Myself Award

This memoire goes over Bunnies hard earlier life and is an ohmage of love to her shitty ex husband and their beautiful daughter. I literally finished this memoire and a month later they are getting a divorce. I don't like parasocial relationships but fuck, that made me feel so sad for her.

🏅My Brain Needs A Refund

This one was...ok. I pushed myself to finish it, I renewed it 3 times in order to finish it. Some parts felt over done, but that could just be me. I also found that I couldn't connect to the characters.

🏅Would Fight A Stranger To Recommend This Novel Award

I chose this book for a nice pallet cleanser, oh boy, was it ever. It immediately became one of my favourite novels. A sweet story of someone doing the bare minimum until the meet someone who shows them how to love what they do again.

🏅The Excuse Me, WHAT?? Award

Sweet Maggie return to her childhood Victorian home where memories are blocked out and the only thing she has to go off of is her late fathers non-fiction about their stay in the house. The WHATTT is what Maggie discovers. You should just give this book a try.

🏅Stayed With Me After The Final Chapter

The author reads her memoire and the entire time it just feels like you are hanging out with a good friend listening to her life story. This book really helps you understand what having sociopathy is like from a first hand account, I thought that was cool.

🏅I Was Not Prepared For This Nonsense

This novel got me into domestic thrillers. Couple goes on a weekend getaway to a remote place and the weekend turns dangerous as secrets start spilling out.

🏅The Author Was Three Steps Ahead Of Me

Stuck in a time loop where grandpa gets murdered?? Will he stop it? I won't tell you because that is a spoiler.

🏅A Little Piece Of My Heart Lives Here Now

I won't even get too far into this one. The plot remains the same but with more heart warming stories. Please just give it a try.

🏅One More Chapter Syndrome Award

Brilliant. This Agatha Christie-esque book was done so well. Welcome to the mystery club where everyone is getting murdered one by one..

🏅Emotionally Adopted These Characters

My spouse saw this tiny little book at chapters and I decided to listen to the audiobook. Soft story that pushes the boundaries on femineity and masculinity, everyone is allowed to have stuffies. Prove me wrong.

🏅Trust Issues Were Developed Here

This book kept me on my toes. Truly reminded me of Gone Girl but better? That's just my opinion. I finished this novel today.

🏅Welcome To The List Daisy

I am 47 minutes deep into this ones. So far so good. The hooks about a toxic family and everyone is starting to die on Grandma's birthday..I think I may be worth the listen.

Have you listen or read any of these? If so, let me know your favourites or recommend what I should listen to for book #28!
