I just knew The Unknown was going to be a problem when I picked it up.
I just didn't realize it was going to be a finish-in-three-days-and-now-I-don't-know-what-to-do-with-myself kind of problem. (Maybe read Final Girls..??)
In my opinion, Riley Sager has done it again. I got completely sucked into this novel, and once I started, putting it down became less of an option and more of a personal attack. I needed to know what was going to happen. I spent all day Sunday with multiple cups of tea, One Piece playing in the background and, oh boy, did I burn this book down.
First you ask, why did it suck me in? Well, I will tell you!
Imagine: five women disappear off an island in Vermont, and, well...history begins repeating itself. Is this even real life? Why is this happening? WHO is doing this?
The atmosphere is spooky, a little (a lot) witchy and gives perfect summertime vibes. The story moves at a full-on fast pace as everything begins to unravel, and it is filled with Sager's twists and turns. I don't want to give too much away in case you decide to read it.
So, would I recommend The Unknown? ABSOLUTELY. Would I recommend starting it if you have things to do and places to be? ABSOLUTELY NOT.
I finished this novel in three days, became incredibly attached to the characters, and the mystery, and now I am left wondering what the heck am I supposed to read next. Thanks so much, Riley Sager.
Thank you for taking the time to read my entry about this novel. I hope to see you in the next one,
