my jeff the killer lore rewrite! (they're bullet points.)

hey, all! for starters, i'd like to mention that this was already posted on tumblr on a now defunct account a long time ago. if you've seen it before, rest assured i am the original creator. i've also changed it a liiiittle bit since then, most grammatical errors i forgot to correct to be honest. ꒰#’ω`#꒱੭

with that being said, here it is! i hope you enjoy, feel free to leave a comment on something you think is worth changing, or any other opinions/inputs you may have!

Pre-cursor thingies:

  • The Woods move into their new home in the summer of 2009. The core of the pasta takes place in the autumn of 2009 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
  • Peter and Margaret Woods are the parents of Jeffery and Liu Woods. Jeff is 16, Liu's 14. Yes, Liu is younger than Jeff in my interpretation!
  • Alan and Barbara Mitchell are the parents of Randy and Billy Mitchell. Randy's 16, Billy's 7.
  • Randy's friends, Troy and Keith, are also his age (16).
  • The "weird feeling" mentioned in the original story is a psychotic conscience that awakens whenever his rationality is thrown out the window and he's beyond emotional consolidation/control.

Pasta story:

  • Jeff and his family lived in a dangerous, lower class neighborhood, hence why they moved once his father received a promotion. What they describe as "fancy" is actually just a standard middle class home.
  • Unlike the original story, Barbara does not introduce herself and her son when the family moves in.
  • Jeff and Liu still have the encounter with Randy and his friends at the bus stop. Randy's unsuccessful at swiping the wallet, because Liu stops him. Jeff doesn't start to care until Randy shoves him and calls him a pussy for being quiet and not standing up for his brother.
  • When Randy initiates a fight, he never pulls a knife on Jeff, only forcing him to his feet before punching his face.
  • Jeff only fights out of self defense instead of rage or irritation.
  • Before Troy and Keith get the chance to step in, Liu breaks Randy and Jeff apart when he notices Randy struggling to defend himself.
  • All of the boys flee the bus stop after the fight, with Jeff and Liu going back home while Randy and his friends go elsewhere.
  • Jeff and Liu's excuse for returning home was Liu feeling sick and "throwing up at the bus stop," with Jeff offering to take care of him.
  • Since the boys rarely ever got sick and stood home from school, Margaret believed them (Peter was already at work at this point, so he isn't present to make his judgement), and allowed them to stay home.
  • Later that same afternoon, Randy and his mother visit the Woods' instead of the police.
  • Margaret finds out what really happens after a sit-down in the living room with the boys, Randy, and his mother.
  • After Margaret grounds them for their behavior, Barbara mentions her youngest son's birthday party, encouraging the boys to attend to make up for the fight. They agree, but immediately start complaining the moment she and Randy leave. Margaret ultimately forces them to go.
  • The scene where Jeff's parents force him to dress up in formal attire is removed, replaced by Jeff and Liu going in their casual wear and heading next door (Note: Jeff's still got his white hoodie on, deeming it the "cleanest thing in the closet" and appropriate for the party).
  • Jeff and Liu greet the Mitchells, glazing over Randy and his friends before heading out back where Billy and his guests are.
  • The wholesome moment between Jeff and the kids playing cowboys in the backyard still happens, this time with Liu included.
  • When everyone's called inside to sing happy birthday, Jeff and Liu notice that Billy was given one of those giant blooming candles that turns into a flower and shoots out flames when lit (foreshadowing).
  • After lighting the candle, before the birthday song could even be sung, Randy halts the crowd.
  • He makes up an impromptu speech, calling Jeff and Liu the "guests of honor" before proceeding to insult the both of them.
  • Jeff, irritated not by his words but by the fact that he was making him look worse, fights Randy for a second time.
  • Nobody interferes, as it gets violent. Randy eventually pins Jeff down with his feet and attempts to waterboard him by pouring Everclear over his paper towel-covered face.
  • Since they're already in the kitchen, Jeff pushes Randy off and attempts to defend himself by grabbing a knife out a knife block near him and stab his shoulder.
  • Randy dodges his attack, Sending Jeff's arm flying into the open flame of the candle.
  • The fire spreads from his arm up to his face and hair as he screams and thrashes around, failing to put it out.
  • Too afraid to catch fire themselves, no one approaches Jeff to help him extinguish it until water was splashed on him from afar.
  • He slips, he falls, he blacks out.
  • Jeff wakes up in the hospital after having his head shaven, a debridement procedure and a skin graft surgery.
  • Liu, who's at the side of his bed, explains what happens while he was unconscious, and tells him that his parents had left the room to get snacks and water.
  • They return not long after, relieved to see their son awake only for a few minutes before immediately scolding him for getting into another fight with Randy.
  • Jeff's both mentally and physically exhausted, forced to sit in silence as they berate him.
  • Liu tries to fight back for him after seeing this, but Margaret and Peter only start to scold him as well for "not doing anything."
  • Jeff's silent internal reflection during their fight causes him to spiral further into psychopathy.
  • The family doesn't notice, even after he was released from the hospital and brought home two weeks later. This is mainly because Jeff stopped being home often from that point onward, opting to spend his time committing minor crimes.
  • Jeff, seeking for a new identity, invests in a black wig, carves a smile into his face and powders it in white makeup (Note: this all occurs after his skin grafts are fully healed. Jeff does not burn his eyelids off).
  • Margaret only finds out after hearing music coming from his bathroom in the middle of the night.
  • Knowing that she'd call the police or alert someone else in the house, Jeff eliminates her then and there in the bathroom by knocking her out, drawing a bath and dragging her in with an active hairdryer. This is done in absolute panic rather than out of a sudden psychopathic tendency.
  • The "psychopathic urge" to murder the rest of his family follows after self contemplation in the bathroom next to his mother's corpse, a full mental breakdown that spirals out of control.
  • Liu and Peter are heavy sleepers, so he deemed them easy to kill in their respective rooms.
  • After visiting the kitchen and picking his knife of choice, he goes to his father's room and successfully pierces his chest there.
  • His scream rouses Liu from his sleep, which sends him running to his father's room, only to see his brother has killed him.
  • Instead of calling the police, he immediately charges him in anger, trying to get an explanation as they fought.
  • Their fight goes from their parents' bedroom all the way to the living room, where they start to hear police sirens from outside right before Jeff could claim a third victim.
  • He immediately flees the scene, running out the backdoor of their home into the woods behind it.
  • Liu answers the door, greeted by the police. They tell him they were summoned by a neighbor before Liu invites them inside.
  • The house is searched while Liu is being questioned. After telling an officer that Jeff escaped through the back, several of them leave to search the woods while a few stay inside to supervise him.
  • Jeff was never found. Liu's grandparents become his legal guardians. A funeral was held for their parents, and Jeff was absent.
  • Every summer for the next four years was spent sneaking away to the neighborhood's woodland area in search of Jeff, seeking revenge for the death of their parents.
