Pagan Folkishness and the Esoteric vs Exoteric

I am currently a member of the Asatru Folk Assembly and while I enjoy their more formal events centered around hof worship to the Gods a part of me really feels like its too rooted in existing Christian aesthetics and priors. 

I have begun exploring more into the esoteric tradition and cultic worship and wondering if any other pagans here feel the same. My only problem is a lot of the more mystical stuff has been taken over by the universalists and there are people of non European ancestry involved which goes against my Folkish beliefs. A shared heritage and ancestral connection to the Gods is paramount. 
Reading Evola has inspired me more to follow this path. 
What do my fellow heathens do in their private practice? Do any of you exist within a mannerbund of sorts?
