It’s strange how people can be close to you for years and then one day they’re basically a stranger. No argument, falling out, or anything dramatic. They just stop showing up in your life.
You notice it slowly. They reply less. They stop reaching out. You stop reaching out too because you don’t want to bother them or look like you’re chasing them or something. Eventually the conversations shrink down to nothing, and you’re left with someone you used to know really well but now barely speak to.
It’s not always sad. Sometimes it’s just how life goes. People get busy, or their priorities shift, or they’re dealing with things they don’t talk about. But it still feels weird when you think about how close you used to be.
What gets me is how normal it is. I think most people have at least a one person they used to talk to every day and now barely think about. No big story behind it, just time doing what it does.

Yeah, truth. Just one of the sadder parts of people being people 😕
