weird compliments?

In college, I was standing around with some female friends in the quad and this chick I’d never seen walks by me and says I smell nice. I say thanks and then she pushes her nose toward my armpit and says something like “Wow, even your armpits smell good!”

And that, kids, is how I met your mo-

No, no, just kidding.

So what’s a weird compliment you’ve received?

This one wasn't directed at me, but... one time I was visiting my parents for Thanksgiving or Christmas, doesn't matter which.  My brother was away at school at the time, and he and his friend splurged for really close up tickets at a basketball game the night I got to my parents' house.  (He came home for whichever holiday it was the next day.)  I got home in the middle of the game, Mom had it on TV, and she pointed out that there was one camera angle where you could clearly see my brother and his friend on TV.  Mom pointed at the screen and said, "There he is!  And his neck is so clean?"  I looked at Mom and said, "What?"  Apparently she was having some weird mom flashback to 20+ years ago when he was a baby first eating solid food and he could get it all over his neck or something.  That phrase has since become an inside joke in our family.

At least he finally learned to eat without getting it all over himself 😆

That i have very flexible wrists

I don't think it's ever even occurred to me one could even compliment someone's wrists.

I'll go with the most recent weirded one.  I was at work. A customer walks in. Now, where I work, it is not like I have a steady flow of customers; most often it literally is just 1 customer and me. I am, however, protected behind long, high counters. So yes, I feel somewhat safe.  A customer comes in, and I greet and proceed to walk him through the sales, and toward the end, he literally says, " I bet you have gorgeous feet.  I would love to see you in my shoes sometime."   I literally bust out laughing (awkward nervousness, I suppose) and say, "That's not going to happen."  To which he responds, "Well, can't blame me for trying. Still, I think your feet are gorgeous."  Mind you, I am at work...in sneakers, behind a counter...dude had never seen my feet at all. So yes, that is the weirdest to date, and honestly I am afraid of how anyone could top that.

Reading this made me physically recoil (◎﹏◎)

I like to joke with my friends that I missed my chance to make some extra cash, but we do all agree it was weird/creepy as all get out.

I don't understand feet guys, but he's gotta learn that's not an OK thing to say to someone at work.

Absolutely, when in situations like that at work, my goal is to get them out of the store, because in the store I am safe with all the cameras and 24-hour surveillance; someone is literally watching me my whole shift, is goal...get them out! Now, if I were in public, I probably would have swung on him.

Not so much a weird compliment but a weird context in which a compliment happened. I was at a drive through once, and when I was getting my drink from the window, there was a guy (not the one handing me my drink) cleaning or something and he does, like, a double take and shoves the guy out of the way (I had already got my drink and was about to pull around while they got my order ready) and says "Excuse me, you are so gorgeous. Wow. You are one of the prettiest women I've ever seen."

I of course, laugh and say thank you and I pull around. I'm sitting there waiting for my order and he COMES OUT OF THE BUILDING to tell me "Sorry, I just had to see you again. You are just so beautiful." I of course, thank him again, and he goes back inside. I get my order and drive off. I didn't tell my then-boyfriend because I knew he was gonna be pissed at me. I wonder what that guy's up to now. This was a couple years ago.

The then-boyfriend is now an ex, yes? Because how on earth could someone get mad at you for the compliments you receive? Granted weird how the dude was persistent about it, but again, you had no control over that.

Broke up with that abusive POS last November and I am doing much better without him! He liked isolating me from everyone including my family. We were engaged too (but he didn't care to plan anything or even set a date with me so nothing ever got planned in the first place thank god)

I am so happy about your lost extra weight 😉 You deserve so much better than that!

That guy was odd in his approach, but glad he seemed harmless. Extra glad you got away from your ex!
