Read all of this before crashing out in the comments! 😘
1. It takes a
village/other adults to raise a child. Growing up on an uncensored and
open internet, I got a lot more wisdom, guidance, and knowledge from
adults/"uncs" than I did people my age.
2. Teachers,
pediatricians, and coaches can be predators too. In fact, predators are
actually more likely to pick those professions so they can be around
kids all day. The most likely people to be predators are actually the
minor's family. That being said if we separated all kids from adults and
just let them raise themselves lord of the flies style because bad
things can happen, much worse things would be soon to follow, such as the collpase of society.
3. Predators will just make accounts posing as minors, solving nothing in this context. Just like how many minors on here say yeah I'm 25 bro ;) then hidden on their page I find a pink text on pink background in fine print it says "lol i'm 15."
4.
Predators can be minors too, in the past I knew some evil minors who
would scam, hack, threaten, sextort minors, etc. Even at 14-15 years
old. The youngest one was like 12 or 13 and he literally stole some
dude's entire life savings from his bank... 😱 (This was all many years
ago, I don't talk to those people anymore. Also I was always a force of
trying to get those kids to STOP doing that, which sometimes worked, but
only when I seemed to leverage fear/consequences with them. Inevitably
they seemed to just go back to doing it after a few months or at most a
yearish though. :[ )
5. Humans have a strong negativity bias
built in. If you work at a store and 99% of the customers have a
good/normal interaction, those aren't the people you remember at the end
of the day. You remember the 1% of bad people that were rude meanie
faces and let them live in your head all day and night draining your
psychic energy. The same is true with everything even outside of retail,
in this case that bad people may exist and harm minors. It's better to
focus on the much more common positives than the rare, yet over talked
about negatives.
6. When kids are in trouble or going through a tough time, we always told minors to seek out an adult. We shouldn't suddenly assume this is a bad idea now... I have literally been able to save multiple kids/teens lives over the years on the internet as an adult. Not just speculating; they would come back later to find me just to thank me directly for saving them/fixing their life. Accentuate the positive. Fear and creating artificial metabarriers to interaction is just as effective as the "no guns" sticker on the front door of a school being shot up.
7. In severall states in the USA 16 is the age of consent. Most people assume it's 18 everywhere
because that's the age in California/hollywood where most of the media
we consume is made. The legal age is even lower in different parts of
the world as well. 13 in some prefectures in Japan, 12 in some parts of
mexico, and 9 in some parts of the middle east. Some people make the
arguement it's all about "when the brain stops developing and we are
fully matured" well that number used to be 26, but I just looked it up
again, and now that number is 32! ;P
8. This is gonna be the hardest one for you to accept, but I have to post it because it's TRUE. Just because a person is a minor doesn't mean that they are a victim/aren't the instigator... There was a girl on spacehey that had a blog complaining about how she was BLOCKED by her groomer. Yes you read that right. She wasn't mad that she got groomed, she was mad that her groomer blocked her. I'm going to leave all of her personal information out of it and just give quotes.

Now you may think that she has no part in this, but that she is trying to form an angry mob on him AFTER he blocked her, not while he was grooming... Furthermore here are THREE quotes directly from her profile; verbatim, unedited, unmanipulated as of one month ago.
A. "I ♡ older men & I'm super duper cuddly. "
B. "I'm 15 and willing to talk to anyone, hehe, all ages welcome basically. "
C. "hmu if u wanna talk sumtime or anytime! <3 I'll do anything for you. Literally anything. "
Finally she had morse code on her profile that literally. Actually. Translated to...
D."IF YOU ARE BETWEEN THE AGES OF 18-29 PLEASE GROOM ME!!!" 😂
And yet the mob still rallied around her, mass reported the guy and got that "evil predator" with over 1000 friends banned and maybe worse.

9. As a user there is always the option to just
A. Not add someone if you aren't comfy with them or their age.
B. Not accept a friend request if you aren't comfy with them or their age.
C. Remove them as a friend if you are not comfy with them or their age.
D. Block them if you are not comfy with them or their age.
Here is how easy it is, this girl and I had an AMAZING conversation about God and religion the day prior, then she checked my page, realized I was older and this happened. That was our last message. That simple, no hard feelings. But in this case she is just missing out. :P

What is normal/accepted shifts over time, sometimes things keep shifting one way for a long time until it goes way too far. Only then do people some times go the opposite way. Then it became against the law to smoke in restaruants, and within a year people stopped smoking inside establishments even in the dirtiest dive bars. But people still smoked inside for years longer. Then everyone stopped that too. Then some places started implementing you can't smoke outside too close to the building policies. Now some campuses are "smoke free campuses" meaning you can't smoke anywhere at anytime, even outdoors. And entire companies like Juul got banned/regulated away.
