what do you think will happen to console gaming with all the increases in prices and anti customer practices?
is it just a rough spot that people will move on from or will more people switch to PCs by the end of this decade?

@yashujibs i think that eventually all of this alongside the prices of RAM, GPU's, storage and anything else skyrocketing will cause some sort of recession in the gaming industry 😝

thats a scary thought

I personally think gaming PCs will get cheaper and cheaper. And hopefully so will powerful GPUs, because even on a budget gaming rig, they're giving you a weak as fuck GPU (in my case). Once the price barrier drops, people will then have to overcome the technical barrier of operating a complex machine (safe downloading practises, storage management, maintenance, learning PC components for replacement in the future, and the amazing world of GitHub).
Which is why I think a mass exodus would be slow, but not impossible. Or perhaps an existing or brand new company come out with an amazing console deal that promises not to screw over customers.
This is obvious wishful thinking btw
your thinkings a bit too wishful eh?
also this has nothing to do with anything but i miss it when graphic cards used to be about real power and not just the computer lying to the game :/

Yeah, NVIDIA is doing nobody any favours with frame generation acting as a crutch for mediocre game development, and worst with that DLSS 5 bs. I hope their company gets a chunk bitten out of them for good measure
double kudosed you
its like how in car engines when they have a second electric engine that gives the original, weaker engine more power but at the same increases its weight tenfold
in this anaolgy weight is its price

i'm a console gamer and i honestly don't think i'll switch over to PC unless i really want/have to. PCs are so expensive for me and i have consoles that still work fine. i also prefer the feel of using a controller rather than a keyboard and mouse. however, there are a lot of games i would love to play that are only on PC, but i only have a laptop. idk, i guess we'll see how things go in the future.
You can pry my console from my cold, dead hands. I will simply keep playing older games lol there is so much out there. Backlog truly is endless. The industry could stop releasing games and I wouldn't run out of games to play for years
with how consoles work nowadays, i think it just discourages switching to pc. all of your games carry over on console now, so upgrading isn't really an event anymore like going from the 360 to the one. so why would the average consumer spend thousands on a PC that can play new games, that they have to rebuy the games on, when hey can just buy the new console to play new games and also have all their games right there. yknow what I mean? consoles aren't whole consoles anymore, the ps5 and xbox one x are just the ps4 2 and the xbox one 2
