Are you guys album listeners or are individual songs your thing?

I like to think I’m both! I have this thing where I can’t consider myself a ‘true fan’ of someone until I’ve listened to at least one whole album. I always feel weird if I don’t, because if I only know a song or two, am I actually a fan?

So usually, if I really like an artist, I’ll do one of two things:

1. Listen to one album in full

2. Listen to most of, if not the entire discography

Here are some albums I’ve listened to in full!

The Jaws of Life - Pierce The Veil

Collide With The Sky - Pierce The Veil

A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out - Panic! At The Disco

Pretty. Odd. - Panic At The Disco

I Brought You Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love - My Chemical Romance

Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge - My Chemical Romance

The Black Parade - My Chemical Romance

How It Feels To Be Something On - Sunny Day Real Estate

Lonerism- Tame Impala

Currents - Tame Impala

CHROMAKOPIA - Tyler The Creator

On Letting Go - Circa Survive

Juturna - Circa Survive

Wake - Hail The Sun

Divine Inner Tension - Hail The Sun

So what about you guys?

Feel like for me, albums is the best way to listen to music, especially in more conceptual or thematic ones. I could understand the story, the meaning, and whatever it is that goes behind in creating it.

I also like to do discog dive. It's not often, but usually if I'm impressed by an album, I'll try to look for more by the same artist/band, and then just immerse myself in listening to all of their albums. It has resulted in me loving some songs that I wouldn't have discovered beforehand.

But yeah, I love individual songs too. I listen to a few songs repeatedly, but I do have to take album listener side here.

I usually put the whole discography on especially if it's one of my fav bands or I just listen to my playlists with different artists.

I do tend to zone out often so even if I 'listened' to the whole discography I won't remember most of it and because of this I sometimes get this feeling that I'm a poser or something.

When I have the time tho to attentively listen and try not to zone out I put an album on.

albums are better most of the time, but some albums suck except for a track or two

unless i'm listening to it on the radio, i listen to albums.

When a new album comes out from an artist I love, I listen to the album in full. Usually a few times. Then it’s thrown into the shuffle.

I come from the age of the album. Albums, of course!

Except when I'm listening to music from before albums, of course!

I do personally prefer listening to entire albums, more often than not I end up appreciating the rest of the songs more than the lead single/title track. In my case, it happens a lot with K-pop.

I dont think I ever listened to a full album. I just check out the songs I like and thats it. Also I just never pay attention to what songs are in what album lmao I only care about the group/musician

there's a rare case when i'd listen to entire album. mostly picking out songs for a playlist. im a playlist gal ig. even my audio cds that i burn are mostly mixed by topic are mood

If I discover a song I really like I'll listen to the album to discover more greatness.

i like to listen to albums especially if it's a seamless one where it all sounds like one big song. examples are portable headphone dancefloor by 2 mello and yonderdome decade by dj sharpnel

If i own if physically, i know all the songs on the album! but if im listening on spotify, i normally just listen to the artists top stuff to get a feeling for their vibe! The arctic monkeys is probs one of the only groups that i can point to and say ive listened to all of their albums

Depends on the mood I suppose. If I'm in the mood for an album, I'll listen to an album. If I'm not I'll put on one of my playlists. Ofc if I'm listening to my physical collection I'll listen to the album, kinda hard to skip around on vinyl lol

It depends on how big the discog is, so if its only a couple albums i'll listen to the whole thing and pick my favorite songs if i don't like a whole album. And if its really long I'll go to the albums my favorites are in and then branch out to the other albums.

I try to listen to full albums more often recently, especially if it's a band I'm only just finding out about, but for more casual listening, I'll just listen to a random selection of standalone songs

Some albums I like listening to in their entirety are Still Searching and Life is not a Waiting Room by Senses Fail and Hades: The Nine Stages of Change at the Deceased Remains by My Dead Girlfriend, I notice those albums feel a lot like they're telling a story through the music, so listening to the albums in full in the proper song order just feels correct

I notice a lot of bands I like that're still releasing music really like putting out several singles in a row and not release an album for months or years at a time, so sometimes that's just what I'm stuck with

I want to pick up this call.

I listen to an entire album and if i like it I'll listen to their next album. I also wont consider myself a fan until I've listened to an entire album, even then I'm like well... I've not listened to enough of their discog so I'm still worried to say I'm a fan, haha

Red Rover, Red Rover, Bob Lazar's Coming Over.

i'll usually listen to full albums more!! it's a way for me to passively consume an artists discography and gauge their overall vibe.

both. when i'm first getting into an artist, i listen to a couple individual songs to see if i like em. if i do, i'll listen to that whole album.

I feel like a big poser when I say this but def individual songs, but if the album is like a rock opera or has a story then the entire album

Depends of mood

yesterday I listened the whole album of Peor Es Nada (Ultimo Intento) but most of time I like to hear the songs randomly
