Are you guys album listeners or are individual songs your thing?

I like to think I’m both! I have this thing where I can’t consider myself a ‘true fan’ of someone until I’ve listened to at least one whole album. I always feel weird if I don’t, because if I only know a song or two, am I actually a fan?

So usually, if I really like an artist, I’ll do one of two things:

1. Listen to one album in full

2. Listen to most of, if not the entire discography

Here are some albums I’ve listened to in full!

The Jaws of Life - Pierce The Veil

Collide With The Sky - Pierce The Veil

A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out - Panic! At The Disco

Pretty. Odd. - Panic At The Disco

I Brought You Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love - My Chemical Romance

Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge - My Chemical Romance

The Black Parade - My Chemical Romance

How It Feels To Be Something On - Sunny Day Real Estate

Lonerism- Tame Impala

Currents - Tame Impala

CHROMAKOPIA - Tyler The Creator

On Letting Go - Circa Survive

Juturna - Circa Survive

Wake - Hail The Sun

Divine Inner Tension - Hail The Sun

So what about you guys?

“And we’ll all dance along to the sound of your death! We’ll love again, we’ll laugh again, and it’s better off this way…” -Gerard Way 🎼

mostly albums bc ill get bored of the same songs on my playlist so if i js add hole albums to it their will be more i dont know

tbh, i only listen to a few songs and add them to playlists and stuff. but i'm working on listening to whole albums. my favorite so far is Visions by Grimes. i'm hoping to listen to more, tho! any suggestions?

i only listen to the full albums if its panic! at the disco or fall out boy that im listening to, i usually listen to songs by making a new playlist and spamming random songs so i would say i mainly listen to individual songs

let me save you, hold this rope!

Usually I have a "forever queue" of new and old albums I wanna listen with new singles mixed in but on rare occasion I'll listen to a playlist on shuffle!

i'll do both, but it depends on my mood at the time whether I feel like shuffling or putting an album on

Replying to @dj (post is on page 1): “i like to listen to albums especially if it's a seamless one where it all sounds like one big song. examples are portable headphone dancefloor by 2 mello and...”

@dj dj sharpnel mentioned les goo

i do both! if i like an individual song a lot, then i'll probably listen to the entire album to see the story it is telling.

also my current top three :]

1. Dois - Tempo Perdido

2. Inhuman Rampage - DragonForce

3. Concierto - Jim Hall

JIM HALL MENTIONED!!!!

I'm definitely more of an album listener than a playlist person.

There's something special about experiencing an album the way the artist intended it, especially when it's a concept album. I love when songs aren't just individual tracks but pieces of a larger story, mood, or artistic vision. Listening from start to finish feels much more immersive, almost like watching a film rather than individual scenes.

Some of the albums I find myself returning to the most are Debut by Björk, Blackstar by David Bowie, and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles.

Debut is one of those records that feels endlessly fresh to me. Björk's creativity, the mix of electronic sounds with pop and dance influences, and the personality she brings to every song make it such a fun album to revisit.

Blackstar is completely different, but that's part of why I love it. It's beautiful, experimental, mysterious, and knowing the context surrounding its release makes it even more powerful.

And Sgt. Pepper's is simply timeless. I love how ambitious it was for its time and how it feels like more than just a collection of songs, it's an entire world with its own atmosphere.

Of course, I have plenty of individual songs I love, but if I have the time, I'll almost always choose listening to a full album. There's something magical about going on the whole journey rather than just visiting a few stops along the way

I’m a bit of both. I often listen to individual tracks because I love spontaneity and mixing things up, but I’ll listen to albums in full at times. Usually that’s when I’m first getting into an artist’s discography or revisiting it.

then my loneliness closes in, so i drink a german wine. and drift in dreams of other lives and greater times.

i used to just be an individual songs guy, but ever since i started buying cds ive realised albums are the way to go. especially with albums that have whole like concepts/themes it's so interesting how they interlink and stuff!!

I mostly listen to full albums but his has a BIG disadvantage which is I don't know the names of the songs just on which album they are. Like "What's your favorite song?" idk... like I think it's 7th on the album?  But especially when you have song in mind but you don't know the song name. Then you need to go to album and check every song or search by lyrics but it sometimes don't work.

It's not like I don't know song names at all but usualy I don't assign them to songs themselves. And it also depends on the artist (if I listen to the whole discography at once or just specific albums)
