Do you prefer CDs, tapes, or records?

I personally love CDs because I can just store them in my CD case and then I can display the jewel case on my shelf or wall for decoration! But I also really like tapes because they are smaller and easier to use imo. They also work way easier because they can't get scratched unlike CDs but you still have to rewind them which is less convenient but I still think they're better. As far as records go, I personally don't like them because they are way too big and require more work to actually play it. I only use the records I have to hang up on my wall or just to collect. What do you guys think?

I personally really like all three. Like it's hard for me to choose. I like collecting vinyl's because I really like the look of the cases and whatnot. And the fact that sometimes they come with posters. But the sad thing is I usually never listen to my vinyl's because I'm lazy and it takes too long to set up everything imo. I also rlly like CDs but I think I have to give it to cassette tapes because I really like them and I have a way to make my own, so it feels even more personal when I listen to a tape I made lol

I like all three, but I mainly like tapes. I used to burn CDs since that's what was mostly used around 2010. I do like to make mixed tapes since you can record little vocal audio in between songs to sound like a radio station. I don't know; making it fun to listen to was my priority. Yet, no one really owns a tape deck anymore.

@antonielaxo Man I wish i could burn a CD but I'm too lazy to do it lol, it looks way too complicated

@Yo_ Now it may seem complicated because most laptops do not have CD ports or Windows software is just bunz now. Back then it was super easy and I miss the old windows software.

@Yo_ it isn't tbh you just need a cd/dvd reader, the one I use is the LG slim portable dvd writer, some blank CDs, keep in mind the max length on most cd is 80 min, use a converter to turn ur files into wav, use cdburnerxp and burn em! That's it.

CDs 100% for me, i have a few records but my record players broken :c also they can be so expensive sometimes.

@Courtzz FR that's another reason why I don't like vinyls but so can CDs I feel like. I went to a record shop on Friday and I found a couple CDs that were over $30 which was crazy to me. Especially considering it was a small shop and all of the other prices were pretty cheap.

@Yo_ yeah i feel like its so heavily dependent where you go, i usually go to cex which have relly cheap prices but you have to sort through so many cds to find any bands youre actually interested in, its always a gamble

@Courtzz Yeah but I feel like it being a gamble makes it a lot more fun y'know? Because you never know what you're going to get when you're in that store because of how much variety there is. The prices can be a little bit extreme though.

I like all but CD’s on top !

@Astroflash FR!

CDs NUTS

lol jk

But the best tape is the one with the aux cable attached to it tbh

@X LOL

i love records

CD's all the way. I love cassettes too though, but i don't have a cassette player. I'm not a big fan of vinyls because they're big, cant play them in your car and you don't get a booklet that a CD gives you. Oh and you can't really take them to shows to get signed as easily as a CD.

Red Rover, Red Rover, Bob Lazar's Coming Over.

@FullAheadFlank Some great points. If you want to, there are all-in-one record players that let you play tapes, CDs, and records that you can buy. I think they sell them at Walmart and perhaps Target. That's where I got mine.

I like and only collect cds because for some of the music I like its the easiest to find and the cheapest way to get physical copies of albums, and it's easy to find space to store all of them. I do also think vinyls are cool though, I'd collect them if they weren't way more money

🩷💜🖤 I love CDs, my mom used to have a huge collection/she also would burn cds but she ended up losing them all. Trying to build my own collection :p

Cassettes are my fav, compact lil fellas

I have all three in abundance, but CDs are what I grew up with. I do quite love my cassettes though. I like that both of those are compact and take up less space. Vinyls are cooler for displaying though for sure, if a bit expensive
