I personally love CDs because I can just store them in my CD case and then I can display the jewel case on my shelf or wall for decoration! But I also really like tapes because they are smaller and easier to use imo. They also work way easier because they can't get scratched unlike CDs but you still have to rewind them which is less convenient but I still think they're better. As far as records go, I personally don't like them because they are way too big and require more work to actually play it. I only use the records I have to hang up on my wall or just to collect. What do you guys think?

Replying to @Lulu's Mauling (post is on page 1): “@Yo_ it isn't tbh you just need a cd/dvd reader, the one I use is the LG slim portable dvd writer, some blank CDs, keep in mind the max length on most cd is ...”

@Lulu's Mauling Yes, you're right, my brother has one. Personally, if I gotta buy something that should've been built in, it makes it a little complicated, but that's just me tho. Limewire, and burning a song onto Windows Media Player was the most simplest thing ever. I miss windows 8 </3

@antonielaxo it's 30 bucks tho and I get the wanting to it be built in if we're like talking towers but on a laptop I think it eases things, got more space for other stuff that makes it more powerful instead of smt you might not even use that often

Replying to @🔪Aida_Wandering_Online🩷💜🖤 (post is on page 1): “🩷💜🖤 I love CDs, my mom used to have a huge collection/she also would burn cds but she ended up losing them all. Trying to build my own collection :p”

@🔪Aida_Wandering_Online🩷💜🖤 I reccommend going to a local thrift  store. Usually they sell for around 2-5 bucks so they're really affordable. If they aren't at any local thrifts though, your best bet is a record store. Each record store is different though because some only have vinyls while others just have tapes.

Replying to @Pefnguo (post is on page 1): “I like and only collect cds because for some of the music I like its the easiest to find and the cheapest way to get physical copies of albums, and it's easy...”

@Pefnguo Yeah I hate how expensive vinyls are.

I like all of them but I personally for nostalgia reasons CD's are always gonna be on top. I remember being a kid in the 2000s flipping through my mom's cd book 😭 It was always nice to see if there was any new ones.

Oh pitiful shadow lost in the darkness; oh evil spirit born of those drifting between Heaven and Earth; may the thunderous power from the garments of these holy delicate maidens strike down upon you with great vengeance and furious anger! Shattering your loathsome impurity and returning you from whence you came! Repent motherfucker!

CDs. i buy an ungodly amount of blank CDs and DVDs and burn compilations of music and vids by theme/mood etc.

I’m definitely a fan of CDs. They’re fun to collect and they sound pretty damn good.

@Poble i agree

tapes but only because they're the perfect handfeel. looks like nobody's mentioned it here--tapes only have about 100 plays on them and then the tape wears out and they're unplayable! cds last longer and have better sound quality. still, the tactile sensation of holding, inserting, ejecting tapes is something i miss a lot.

@mallrat Fr! I just find it way more satisfying to put in a tape than a CD for some reason.

CDs because I can rip them into FLAC.

Maybe MySpace was all the friends we made along the way.

I have a cd collection but given the time i was born, i have fond childhood memories of collecting tapes and using them to record stuff etc.
So tapes have a special place in my heart for sure.
Though i have none right now, i am thinking of starting a collection though. i think they look really good stacked too.

@⸸⸸⸸𝕶𝖎𝖑𝖑𝖌𝖆𝐳𝖒𝖔𝖙𝖗𝖔𝖓⸸⸸⸸ Yeah I have a tape collection and they do indeed look really cool stacked together. It's also a really cool thing to display as well.

i think it depends on music you listen to

many genres like to stick to a certain medium so it might not be on the medium you want

for example a lot of jungle is being released primarily on tapes and very rarely on cd

but for vocaloid it's complete opposite, if it's physical release then it's a cd release, there are very few releases that were on tape or, which is even more rare, on vinyl

and as for what i prefer, since i often listen to vocaloid and such, it's cd but honestly, i appreciate all 3 mediums, they all got something good to offer

i like anime girls

Cassette tapes were always my favorite.

CDs and to a bit of a lesser extent cassettes, a lot of cassettes I've found used just haven't aged well or were produced like shit in the first place. I don't like vinyl and I especially hate vinyl ""people"" but I still use it sometimes.

Records are expensive as hell, but I think the sound is worth it. I only have my favorite albums of all time on record, plus old records in decent condition cuz of the price. Cds are more practical, can play in cars, you can put them in your pocket and carry portable cd players to work, school, or wherever.

For convenience and price? CDs. For the experience? Records.

I don't have any cassettes, so I wouldn't know.

CDs all the way, especially since my record player blew a speaker.

I have a collection of records mainly from my family, so I tend to lean towards buying records more often if I was in a record & cd store.

Records by a mile. CDs and tapes are nice because they're cheap, and you can boot stuff on your own. Though I really only have things on tape or cd that are expensive on vinyl, or never had official physical releases.
