How does everyone feel about the new anime?! I've been seeing a lot of mixed reviews on Twitter and wanted to see what this platform thinks!

@Lulu's Mauling even before ai became prominent, older anime artists from the 80s and 90s have expressed being really pissed about how cash grabby/same-y that modern anime has gotten. i remember reading one of them who used to work on anime in the 80s saying "they don't even animate full body movement anymore because they prioritize taking two hours to render the shines in one eye."
i'm in the art/writing industry (trying to be a full time creator) and i think anime studios are suffering from the same "content! content! content!" craze brought on by internet algorithms... people are consuming more content than ever but a lot of it is served by a "for you" feed, and if you don't put out content at a breakneck pace, the algorithm stops pushing your work. this leads people to do all sorts of shameful shit to try to stay in the runnings... ai images are just one of them.
i wish the world would wise up, move away from algorithmic-based sites, and relearn to surf using keywords and tags, but most people think that's a hassle now that they've seen how effortless being served content automatically is.
tl;dr... it's easy to grow lazy.
