Horror Movie Recs!

Hello, I am a huge horror fan. I've seen a ton of them, and I'm looking for some recommendations for my watch list! :D preferably rated R or MA. I don't mind gore ^o^

im not really a movie person, so u prbably seen these.. Audition is based off one of my favourite books, guinea pig mermaid in the manhole is really beautiful.. Ummmmmgmmgmgmmgmmmmmmmgmgmmgmgm i cant think of anything else rn. the other guinea pig movies are pretty much just gore.. 

I recently purchased the Rob Zombie Firefly Trilogy for $19.00 CAD. They are a little on the older side but if you've never seen them they are worth the watch!!

I'm not really a horror fan, and have never watched horror movies, very fiew. 

ginger snaps, trilogy! it's so good, they're not really popular but i loveee this trilogy 

Literally can’t recommend frailty enough, it’s my all time favorite psychological thriller it feels a little slow at times but the pay off is sooooo worth it. 

Also while it’s not a movie or a solely horror centered show alien earth has an episode dedicated to a ship crash caused by the escape of alien monsters with some gnarly creature concepts.

noroi: the curse is a pretty good slowburn horror, ichi the killer is a fun splatterpunk esque piece. i also love the evil dead franchise and hellraiser personally

whether or not you’d count this as horror is debatable but twin peaks: fire walk with me is one of the most horrifying movies i’ve seen tbh, so if you’re willing to sit through season 1 and 2 of twin peaks beforehand i’d recommend

Black Mountain Side (2016), The Thing (1982), The Lighthouse (2019), YellowBrickRoad (2010), The Ritual (2017 and Come and See (1985), Ghostwatch (BBC) (1992).

black mountain side: best to watch alone in the dark. i've watched it like four times already and i don't really like rewatching films

the thing: it's a classic, we all love it

the lighthouse: made me feel sick. i watched it when i was first getting into horror so i'm not sure if i simply wasn't able to handle it because i was new to it but i still recommend it. i remember having to watch it in segments

yellowbrickroad: i watched it during my horror peak. i don't really remember the movie that well but i remember also feeling sick after it and genuinelly hating it (as in genuinelly hating it but i recognize that it was because it was effective on me). i remember i watched alone on the last day of classes. it was first semester of highschool so i didn't have any friends. it was a very interesting day to put it somehow

the ritual: i have watched it trice i think. pretty neat film but i might be biased because i love any film that has to do with the woods

come and see: historical film. also felt sick.

ghostwatch: also good to watch alone in the dark. it's a slow burn and not that hard hitting but i liked it

Brute 1976, it's kinda good that it's kinda bad, but I love it!!

Obsession (if you haven't already seen), a tale of two sisters, marebito, perfect blue, tetsuo the iron man

hi, it depends what are u searching for: something more philosophical or more violence? i see a lot of slashers or gores in the replies,im guessing u enjoy those?

Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Saw, Terrifier, Abigail, The Black Phone, IT, Carrie, Pearl, all are a fun watch

Some of my favorites that are not amazing. Just a good watch for fun are Thirteen Ghost, Freddy vs. Jason, Ghost Ship, any of the Wrong Turn movies, Idle Hands, and Jeepers Creepers!
