🩷💜🖤 I've been struggling with this for awhile, I just want to stop running into/interacting with people that aren't putting as much energy into me as I put into them...it's exhausting me so much 😭

My best bet is that it's safer to just slowly lose contact with them while looking for new friends. If they can't put enough effort into a friendship then they don't deserve one.
Also if you haven't started, I'd start focusing on yourself too. Because if you don't have friends to reach out to, you gotta find yourself.
That's just my advice tho lol

@Owen_4521 Thank you, & I am trying to be there for myself a lot more recently. I think I've done a decent job with that so far, I guess I just end up falling into old habits from time to time with toxic people. 🩷💜🖤
@🔪Aida_Wandering_Online🩷💜🖤 hey sorry, haven't been on here for a while but I hope you're doing okay :) and I'm really glad you're trying to get out of it. I know people who couldn't ever do that because they're scared, which is okay too🖤 but yeah, I promise things will get better.
Tbh, lately for me hasn't been great for me either but I'm still standing and I know you'll be able to as well. It's just rough for now, but the highest mountains often have the most pretty views❤️🩹 stay strong bro, ik you got this🔥⚡

@Owen_4521 awww thank you! & dw, I've been online but not too much as I was last month, so I completely get it 🩷💜🖤 I hope things get better for you though, I really appreciate your advice & I am taking it to heart!
Today was really great day with a friend that I think enjoys my company a lot 🥹 & btw you seem like a super cool person irl based on your photos! I love your guitar/style!
honestly, if someone isn't putting that much effort into you as you are putting into them they are just not worth it!
@B1teme_V4mpLuvr It's a huge issue sometimes when I do but I go off the basis of them promising me that we'd be friends for a long time. It just doesn't make sense to me, if you're going to promise that, but not keep it, then don't ever make that promise...
@🔪Aida_Wandering_Online🩷💜🖤 something u could do is wait for a confirmation before taking the promise srsly, just 2 make sure it isnt an empty promise!
I cut them off, I rather be with the peace of my own mind than sacrifice my dignity by staying with them any longer
@Wiredoomed Thank you, yeah I think I'm gonna slowly distance myself at this point in time 🩷💜🖤
^^^ Agreed, matching energy has served me well. Keep most of your friends casual, if you want to put in more effort and get closer, wait a year or two to get closer to them and get to know them better! Save your energy for the people you know care about you.

Slowly cut them off while putting yourself in like unfamiliar situations so that you can gain confidence and find new friends
Once you get friends you actually like time to cut the old ones off
If you can’t, it’s better to be alone I promise because that’s how the new people come to you- they can’t come to you if you aren’t alone

@🍋🟩 illicxt 💜 I have been putting myself in unfamiliar areas recently! I had a coffee hangout at this super cool book & flower Cafe with this new girl I met recently & it super fun 🩷💜🖤 So I'm going to keep doing that with people I think actively want to keep up with me
That sounds awesome!!! So happy for you

@(m)tropy This is a perspective I haven't seen many people use, I'll keep it in mind :3, I think I tend to get attached a bit too easily so being a party friend doesn't seem that bad now that I think abt it 🩷💜🖤
ghost them
you just stop hanging out/ talking with them really, it's not that hard.
When i was in the US, i would distance myself when they start talking bad about me behind my back, and then continue distancing to the point where we are like classmates instead of friends so :p
In my experience with stuff like that, things just seem to slowly fade away by themselves

girl cut them off
my advice may not be great… i simply just stopped responding to messages and denying any requests to hang out, or in one case, to drive a girl places. this was only an issue while i was in school, and i wasn’t too concerned with having friends anyway. i guess i wasn’t as afraid of being blunt after tolerating the same stuff for a while, and eventually they get the message (and move on to the next in their line up of friends). i can’t say it was always easy, especially as someone who had no friends and at one point would offer to pay for everything just so someone would come along, but having none or few feels much better than having the stress of being a backup or “ego booster”.
